From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed by warm lighting, the mouthwatering aroma of fresh dough baking, and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. But what truly elevated our evening was the incredible service from Kam, our waiter.

Kam was the perfect blend of friendly, attentive, and professional. He greeted us with a genuine smile and made us feel like honored guests. Throughout the evening, he was always one step ahead—refilling our drinks before we even noticed they were low, making stellar recommendations, and ensuring everything from appetizers to dessert was flawless. It’s clear that Kam has a passion for hospitality; he treated each table like family, creating an atmosphere that felt both relaxed and elegant.

Now, let’s talk food—wow! The pasta dishes were perfection. We ordered the handmade mushroom with truffle cream sauce, which was rich yet delicately balanced, and the classic spaghetti prosciutto carbonara, which was a masterclass in simplicity and taste. Every bite of pasta was cooked al dente, just as it should be. As if that weren’t enough, the pizza stole the show. Thin, crisp crust with the perfect amount of chew, topped with vibrant San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil—pure bliss!

Kam’s recommendations also extended to the wine list, where he suggested a bottle of Montepulciano that paired beautifully with both our pasta and pizza. He even surprised us with a complimentary dessert to finish the evening—a creamy tiramisu that melted in our mouths.

Coeliac review: Preface to say this was my first time eating here gluten free, but I used to eat here often as one of my favourite restaurants.

I was asked about allergies on arrival and stated gluten for myself, the server explained scanning the barcode on the menu for allergen info. I asked whether the foods listed gluten free were cooked separate or cross contaminated and was informed that anything fried was cooked with gluten so “it depends how sensitive you are” (to which I stated I was coeliac so it was a no go) but this was a huge red flag. It’s also important to note this is not mentioned on the allergen menu next to the items. I was informed the pizzas are cooked in the same oven on a separate tray and pasta is also separate so to stick to these options. I opted for pizza. The toppings were lovely but unfortunately the base was very undercooked and doughy/stodgy. The server did not return after initially bringing us our meals, it ended up being a senior staff that came over to clear our plates as we had been waiting a while (it was busy as a Saturday). He asked how the meal was and I gave him my honest feedback about the pizza base, and he kindly omitted this item off the bill.
