Baked Nation — Restaurant in St Albans

We tried Breakfast here as my wife had seen the venue when passing.

On arrival, we were ignored until we asked if we could take a seat. The table for two was really only large enough for one and with the tables either end of it taken, getting in without disturbing our neighbours was not easy. This is made more difficult by a foot bar under the table getting in the way.

We both chose Eggs Benedict and coffee. The coffee was week and the Eggs Benedict poor. The eggs were well prepared, but the ham/smoked salmon were tasteless and the hollandaise sauce seemed to me to be strait of the shelf.

I walked past it many times and read good reviews, so as one can imagine how much I looked forward to it when I entered it. The service staff was very cold and not welcomning even when I passionately said how much I was looking forward to trying their product. His attitude made me not want to stay. I took away 3 different types pastries, they were way over priced. My husband and I are both food lovers and we like trying new food around the world. Safe to say, their pastries taste...

go here! its right by the station so super convenient, the staff re very friendly and the coffee is ace. ive gotten breakfast here too which is delish and good quality (albeit a bit on the pricier side) and the sandwiches are really yum! Also, this is a my top tip - the fresh bread is AMAZING! i always go here, out of my way, to buy bread. it's not cheap, but it is sooooo good! also more outdoor space...
