The Maltings — Local services in St Albans

As we can get out more a lot more people are making the use of the Maltings. New signage is up, No Cycling, etc but we still see peopy riding bikes through the Mall. This needs to be monitored before anyone gets hurt by a rider! An Escape Rooms shop has opened up and is busy! It's good to see more of use making use of this Mall and there's only two empty units now! The staff keep it clean and tidy and are very pleased to help you if required. There is only one Charity shop which is always busy. Nearly every unit is full and the Maltings is busy. Which is a great sign to returning to some sort of normallity!!! Unfortunately the bulk of the Maltings is not undercover from the elements. So eating out is very limited, til the weather improves! Parking is good with nearly 500 spaces at a reasonable price, £2 all-day on Sundays. See my price list photo for prices!!! A brand new photo booth along with the library and the theater can be found on the second floor along with the WC's a second disable WC can be found behind Costa coffee, you'll need your radar key...

I think the Maltings is really good. Today I went to Wilkinsons, and it is an amazing shop. It was always good, but they have got so many different things in there now. They've expanded into so many different areas, lighting, kitchen, home things, garden, bedding, not much food, toiletries and washing things, cleaning things, everything for pets, (but not pets themselves,) it's hard to think what you can't get there! There's an underground car park right next to it, it's at the end of the Maltings Shopping Centre, which is right in the middle of St Albans town centre. I didn't dislike the shopping centre itself - all the usual shops - new look, accessorise,.etc But the car park I don't mind multi.storey car parks but this was horrendous The spaces were tiny - and I only.have a small car And there were giant posts everywhere The first space I tried the car next to me hadn't parked very neatly So when I parked next to him I couldn't open my door because of the huge Pillar there !
