The Victoria St Albans — Restaurant in St Albans

Had a lovely evening at the Victoria tonight. Ashley was so lovely on the phone, when I had to ring to say we were running late due to road works. Before entering main bar area, we had hand sanitizer machine and track and trace code at the door. Once in Natalie explained the rules and showed us to our tables. Staff all wore face masks. Ordering & paying was so easy and fast with the app while at our tables. Service from the waitress Tiarna was excellent all evening. 2 of us had the beef burger & 1 had the chicken burger with a portion of onion rings from the food menu, all 3 agreed their food was lovely and would recommend. All 5 agreed that they felt the Victoria offered a very good layout for socially distancing. And we will now be using this as our meetup...

The worst experience you can have after a national lockdown. We went to The Victoria for a meal and a drink but were completely disappointed by the way we were treated by the manager. My friend made a mistake when ordering online and accidentally placed her food order twice. The waiters tried to be helpful but the manager came over to our table and notified us that she will not get a refund. The manager was arrogant, rude, spoke to us in a very degrading manner and then walked away. She should not be dealing with customers! The pub reopened in March 2020 following a major revamp under new licensees. It now has a more contemporary feel, describing itself as a Premium Sports Bar.

The central bar has now gone, replaced by a very attractive bar along the back wall. The garden area along one side is very well kitted-out, allowing people to watch live sports either inside or out. Also a nice outdoor area at the front.
