just to preface, i understand they were busy, and my family in fairness did enjoy their food, however i had a largely different experience. we got a nice booth table for a breakfast dining. after about 15 minutes a rather nonchalant waitress took our order for some waters drinks and myself a cappuccino, whilst about 15 minutes later all my family recieved their drinks, i however did not receive mine so asked where it was and 20 minutes later it was bought over 🤷♀️, we had also ordered our food at the time we ordered our drinks and probably recieved it rather slowly compared to other dining experiences once we did receive our food it looked nice, however mine was pretty much freezing cold and raw in the middle, lack of syrup, nice bacon though, won’t go again, won’t recommend. I also might just add that i thought the decor was extremely outdated and lack of effort tbf, but in all fairness at the end when we asked for the bill we had a lovely waitress- one we hadn’t met before, become apologetic and ask if we’d like to sort it out, which we didn’t have time for but much appreciated. Probably the best part of my dining experience aside from being with my family.

Food was really top class as always! Really nice. Lovely cosy atmosphere. But don't go here if your in a rush the man serving us took 20 minutes to take our drinks order. Another 10 minutes to deliver our drinks when they were sat on the side. And took ages to come back for dessert menus to the point we couldn't be bothered. In the end it took us an hour and half for two of us for two courses. As a waiter myself my freind and I wouldn't have minded at all if the place was busy and he was running around but most of the time he was standing there talking to other staff or was no where to be seen at all, also he came across rather callous and as if he did not want to be there. Honestly, not great service for a place that wasn't that busy. Like I said though as with all Bill's the food was lovely. I had the duck salad and the truffle chicken both very tasty and good value for money.

Overall great experience. We came here for brunch and the food was great ,atmosphere was even pleasant, restaurant decor had character and the lady (not sure her name she had black hair and black smart shirt and was behind bar) was very polite and very warm personality. Portions and flavour was really good for the food . Only downfall was we sat in the booth which didn't have table service so we had to order through the QR code ,unfortunately some of the items on the paper menu didn't come up on the online menu ( think veggie sharing platter was one of them) so we still had to get up and place the order at the bar . Also our veggie sharing platter was ment to have tzatziki included which also wasn't served in our platter. However ,overall the food was great ,restaurant is close to all the shops ,parking, market etc and would definitely come back here when in St.albans

Food was prompt and of great quality. My burger was crispy and moist. The buns were toasted so the slaw and tomatoe didn't make it soggy. The semmi spicey mayo was the icing on the cake, it complemented the whole dynamic of the burger. Additionally, the home made slaw was not super runny and not dredged in mayo so that it can accent the mayo properly. The fries were hot. The seasoning could be better but that doesn't take anything away from how good it was. This was a lunch time meal and service was good. Check backs could have been quicker and more thorough. It would be interesting to see how well the place does when it's busy on a Friday night and if the quality of the food holds up to the inner pressure of the dinner rush etc. Overall great food and a great place to dine. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger.... "I'll be back"

We are regular customers at the one in Welwyn Garden City - and there is a specific expectation from Bills as a brand. But when we visited the one in St Albans - it fell short of getting the order out on time - and keeping us updated on where the order was. I was struggling to understand why some of the customer who walked in after us were getting their mains and we were still waiting for the starter after 30 min waiting. When the food arrived the presentation was great - but it wasn’t anything special and with the wait it was simply the last hope of saving the day out. The burger we had order was soggy and that was the biggest let down. Would recommend if your looking for a average burger or meal - but expect a wait and it’s not something I would recommend if your looking for a spectacular meal.

I had lunch here today (Wednesday) and liked the restaurant. I ordered the meat platter which I think is to share but I managed it myself :) it consisted of chorizo (was awesome), hummus (again tasted smooth and silky) and dumplings which came with a rich plum(?) sauce. It had olives which I don’t like and plenty of bread which I used to mop up the chorizo sauce (yes!!). I had a berry smoothy which was tasty albeit a little stingy on the portion size/glass size. Overall a great meal. Service was great. I was welcomed warmly on entry and served by an efficient and smiley young lady. It got busy around me as lunch went on and I liked the decor. Good for groups and there were lots of groups of four or five. I would go again.
