(Visited Sunday 22nd September) Another Wetherspoons I had visited many years ago, however I didn't review previously. I had actually forgotten what a great branch this is. Situated just off the main shopping street and next to the civic hall. Two former relocated Barns, which are now of listed status, make up this pub. On this occasion I ordered a Sticky Korean Fried Chicken Bowl and a pint of Leffe Beer. Total cost = £10.02. I've had the Korean chicken bowl on a number of occasions now and am quite taken with it. Hopefully it will remain on the menu for the longer term. The pint of Leffe arrived within a few minutes of ordering. The food arriving around nine minutes. Although the bowl the food arrived in was smaller than the usual Raman bowls, it was none the less filled with a good quantity of chips and chicken. This branch is in the top #10 of branches I have visited over the years. Highly recommend for reasonably priced food and drinks in a nice setting.

I haven’t visited this pub for years, and probably only a couple of times previously. It’s easy to snobbishly dismiss Wetherspoons’ pubs, plus the chain owner doesn’t get good press. Nevertheless they do what they do very well! Like most Wetherspoons’ premises this is a spacious, stylish building. You won’t find a longer bar and bigger range of beers/ales/lager in St Albans, and at the cheapest prices. Also a large, covered area outside for smokers. I was impressed by the latest additions to the bar, including Leffe Blonde at £3.49. Clearly the busiest pub locally on a Tuesday evening in early February. I’m not enticed by either the choice/look of the food but you can’t argue with a successful business model.

I ate here for the first time on Nov, 6 and planned to give a 5-star review because the food was so delicious. Especially the crispy fried chicken wings. It's really awesome. But when I went back again for breakfast on Nov, 14, I ordered food and paid via QR code. Ordered a muffin and 3 hash browns, but only got one. When I asked the waitress, she argued that I didn't order. then walked away But when I checked my order history over the phone, it confirmed that I had already ordered and paid. I tried looking for the waitress again but couldn't find her and I paid without receiving the full meal.
