We visited this restaurant in December and ordered two pizzas. While they were edible, they tasted just okay overall. Unfortunately, the pizzas featured a tomato sauce that seemed more like “tomato concrete” than fresh tomato, which dominated the flavor in an unpleasant way. The dough also needed some refinement—it was passable but lacked the finesse we were hoping for. The real kicker, though, was the dessert. We ordered tiramisu, and it was served in a Jägermeister shot glass, which honestly made me laugh. It was such an odd presentation that it became the cherry on top of an otherwise disappointing meal. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and accommodating. However, given the overall experience, we don’t plan on returning. I decided to write this review now because since December, we’ve eaten a lot of Italian pizzas around Wheathampstead, and we’re still laughing about this one!

Usually get take away from here but decided to book a table for an anniversary dinner. Food was probably better having it freshly cooked. The staff were attentive but as we were the only ones in there they didn't have much to do. The place looked clean and bright however the music being played was not only too loud but clearly on a free Spotify account as adverts keep interrupting the mood. Overall a good experience.

A pizza is just a pizza! Apparently not! 4 of us stopped off at Nonnos in Wheathamstead, between us we had 3 different pizzas and a seafood pasta, I had a Gorgonzola Pizza, beyond excellent. My colleagues were equally good, in fairness I was to set on mine to pay that much attention, I have no hesitation in giving the whole experience 5 stars

I used to love going to Nonnos and I feel so sad to write this review but the restaurant has gone down hill since the last time I went (and looking at their recent views I guess I’m not the only one who thinks this). The service used to be excellent, you’d receive a very warm welcome and have every need taken care of before you’d even asked (I went here for my birthday and I was given a free desert and complimentary lemoncello was given to the whole table) I’ve been back several times since then and again and it has been a wonderful experience until today. I thought it was strange to walk into a restaurant on a bank holiday weekend and it be completely empty, we thought it’d get busier but there were only 2 other parties that were there when we were between the hours of 5:30-7pm (but maybe the recent service has driven people away…) On arrival the chief told us to sit anywhere and after 10 mins of being in the restaurant was how long it took for the waiting staff to resurface from the bar after being on their phones and take our drinks order but then they brung the wrong drinks to the table. When ordering food I wanted to swap chicken for spicy sausage but got told I wasn’t able to swap anything, and they would remove the chicken from my pizza and charge me more for the spicy sausage. I’d normally think this is cheeky but not complain about it, however considering you can make swaps when ordering on their own website at no extra cost it felt like a slap in the face when I had to pay extra just because I was ordering in the restaurant. Every time I have ever been to this restaurant water was provided without needing to ask, I don’t think this was anything to complain about but when paired with the fact when the food came it was just put on the table and then the staff disappeared again without offering Parmesan or oils and we were not checked up on to see if we were ok, if we had needed anything at all we would have had to get up from our meal to get someone. When we were finished we were offered desserts I ordered the tiramisu (my favourite) but when I got halfway through I found a hair in it. It then took a further 20 mins for someone to be available after we’d finished desserts to ask for the bill. I was so looking forward to coming again it was supposed to be a bank holiday treat. I recommend so many of my friends and family to try this restaurant and I’m very sorry to say I won’t be going back anytime soon or recommending it anymore. Time to find a new fave...

Ordered at 7:25pm and had a delivery time between 7:50pm and 8:10pm. It then got to 8:30pm and the food hadn’t turned up so I called the restaurant and they insisted it would be 5 minutes. Another 20 minutes passed and still no food. I tried to call the restaurant again for an update and they blatantly and without doubt ignored my multiple calls. I then tried to call the restaurant on my partners phone and they answered promptly on the first attempt which is already unacceptable and unprofessional. They then told me that the food was 3 minutes away so again we gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited another 15 minutes which by that time was around 9pm. After trying to call for yet another update as by this time it was becoming outrageous, then they proceeded to ignore and hang up the phone while calling on both my phone number and my partners. We eventually gave up after no food had arrived yet and they was blatantly ignoring us so we ordered from another restaurant which arrived in 20 minutes (perfect, hassle free service from Zio’s Pizzeria). The original order from Nonnos Pizza was finally delivered but hilariously it was after we received our second order from a separate restaurant which we ordered roughly 2 hours later. We sent the delivery driver away and are now looking to get a refund through Just Eat as this whole ordeal is ridiculous, and the restaurant clearly refuse to answer their phone as they know they are in the wrong or just simply don’t care enough to explain or apologise. To summarise, don’t EVER order a takeaway/delivery from this restaurant unless you want stress, awful customer...

From an Italian born and raised they have now made hate pizza !

I ordered on just eat, I was meant to receive the food at either 21:20 or 21:50 I called them constantly from 22:50 they did not know the wear about of their own driver.

The driver got here at 22:35.

Food was cold and horribly packaged no sealed and wet cardboard box.

From someone that used to run a kitchen my self:

I mentioned to them that they were putting me in danger of food poisoning as the food would have been not edible if it was below 34 Celsius degrees - food quality and safety where is it ???

From an Italian they do not deserve to provide such service and call it Nonnos Pizza - is an insult to pizza and insult to Italy.

The manager then called me saying oh sorry, but it takes more thank 20 minutes to prepare and 20 to drive to you, my response was then open a restaurant closer to the locations you wish to provide service to then?

I am not against the driver that had no say in all of this, I used to be a Dominos driver as well so I know the efforts and how challenging it is, I am not complaining against him at all.

Apparently the poor driver had to deliver 2 orders at once !

I paid for mine and only not to join someone else's delivery fee??? Cutting corners.

Asked for a refund straight away .

However the most horrible thing about this whole situation is the fact that this thing happens to me TWICE. Correct TWICE . Very similar issue.

If they cannot provide a service to the places they have on their website they should just stop advertising in those locations!

A' Pizz va magnat CALDA...
