After an 8 mile hike with my dog I was way too tired to cook so I decided I would take myself out for dinner. I had planned to go to Davero for dinner as I Know the owner. However after having to park further away than normal this beautiful restaurant caught my eye, it was then in there that I decided that I would be having Indian food for dinner, which isn't really Indian food it's beautiful and delicious Bangladeshi food. I walked in and was greeted with huge warm smiles showing to a table and the conversation just flowed, I really enjoyed chatting to the gentleman waiters, especially about the fact that they were serving a beautiful Spanish Tempranillo red wine as the house wine!
I was very with the food I'm having lived in St Albans for many years, I have tried every restaurant and every takeaway. The food was fresh beautifully prepared and the meat.
I will most definitely be returning to this restaurant as I cannot find anything negative to say about my experience which was completely impromptu, although I would advise anybody to not do what I did and just turn up I would say that it would be best to book a table as they get very busy and it's very easy to see why they get so busy because this is a lovely lovely dining experience! Thank you guys I had a lovely...
Read moreFirst sit-in and very disappointed. Beautiful decor but average service. Cold reception. Food was not great. Lamb ribs were tough, mixed grill was dry and there was hair strand in my son's food. He couldn't eat no more. We're not one's to complain but hair needs to be covered when cooking. Cocktail is £12. Don't know what the fuss is about. It's overated!!

Can we make it clear we didn't have a problem with prices. But the quality of food should match the price!! We took away the buttered chicken - which had coconut in it. Not to mention - buttered chicken shouldn't have coconut!! A 2nd meal was served to my son (paid for, NOT FREE), which had the hair strand. He had to go to the toilet to spit it!! At no point were we asked if the food was OK. We didn't complain as it was a celebratory meal out. £138 for a family of 4, no starter, no desert!!
Rather than being defensive, take this as a positive criticism. Pls stop harassing me with phone calls. My...
Read moreAfter almost giving up on eating awful Indian food in most Indian restaurants, we gave Nouvelle lounge a try…. Well what a lovely surprise! A meal I thoroughly enjoyed! After me being labelled “fussy” “hard to feed!” I’m also vegetarian. ( I do love to cook from scratch, travel to Asia a lot and have eaten authentic Asian cuisine. ) This restaurant was really good! Lovely clean food, really tasty, good portions, not swimming in ghee, delicious! The usual paneer dishes on offer in other restaurants are awful, sweet, greasy dishes, not in Nouvelle lounge, absolutely delicious! My husband had a salmon dish which looked and smelt lovely. Naan bread was gorgeous, light, airy and no burnt bits! We will definitely go back and 100% recommend you to eat there…. If you can get a table, they are very popular! Staff really attentive too! Only criticism would be the mango chutney is very runny so not the easiest to eat, lime...
