Where can I start on a terrible experience? Firstly our drink order was taken. My elderflower and mint sparkle (sounded amazing) turned up and it was a bottle of elderflower tonic water. I said to the waitress what I had ordered and I hadn't just ordered a bottle of tonic (which would have cost £2.40) she apologized and took my glass. When she returned, she had added a slice of lemon and 2 leaves of mint, that cost £3.40!! Next our starters were ordered, no mains were taken but that didn't matter. Our starters turned up and were ok, doughballs so nothing special. We didn't have enough cutlery and weren't offered any plates. Eventually after finishing our starters, our mains order was taken. We were left holding our menus and with our plates from the starters still in place. There was no attention paid to our comfort! 5 of the main meals turned up. 2 people were having pizzas and one person had said that she wanted olives instead of chillies. The 2 pizzas that turned up didn't have olives on and then the waitress came back and said "we've got this one if you would like?" and took back the pizza and gave my Mum the one she had originally ordered. Both of these were burnt on the bottom so unless we had a razor sharp pizza cutter, nothing was getting through that bottom!! The Caesar salad looked bland and not very appetizing. It was mainly lettuce leaves with a bit of chicken (from a very cheap wholesaler) on top. I ordered the Bolognese and my dad ordered another Caesar salad which he wasn't really looking forward too after seeing the other one. The big problem came when we didn't receive our dinners until the other 5 had finished theirs. We asked twice to be told it was on its way. we could have walked out at that point because we were seeing people around us get their dinner before ours and they had ordered after. My Bolognese was bland and the Caesar salad was as expected, poor quality and presentation. Our waitress came over and said that we could have a drink on the house for waiting but we all just wanted to get out of their so I said "No thank you" so while all the empty plates were still in front of us, she bought the bill over with no question of us having coffee or desserts! Someone did come over to apologise for the service, she said that sometimes things out of their control happen and we all understood that but she didn't explain what had happened to give us the awful service that we had. They took a lot of money off of the bill which was good because there was no way we would pay £160 for what we had. Businesses like this need to step up, they must of had such difficult times in the last 18 months but I have never written a review like this before. Read moreWent around 3pm when there were hardly any customers. Service was very good as waitress was attentive and polite. I told her I had an O2 £5 mains voucher before i ordered. I ordered the bufalo mozzarella pizza and it was a real disappointment. There was hardly any cheese on it. It was basically very thin dough covered in tomatoes and tomato paste. I didn't bother complaining as I knew it was only costing me a fiver. When I got the bill I was charged more because they gave me the Romano base. It would've been nice if the waitress actually asked me what base I wanted instead just automatically choosing the more expensive one knowing that I had a £5 voucher. Unfortunately I won't be going back as I feel I was deceived in to paying more for a pizza when I only wanted to pay £5. Read moreAfter visiting the place several times I subscribed to their online offers as they seemed attractive. We also had family members registered with the O2, which gives them meal discounts for Pizza Express. After not accepting out O2 priority once before we thought to try it again on a different week day. The second time we asked from the beginning and they said they do not accept any O2 priority deals (even though on the O2 website was not mentioned anywhere about any conditions) Fair enough. However I have downloaded the set menus off of their website and asked if they were valid. I was told they were. When we asked for the bill we were told that the offer did not work. I don't know if it is a manager's decision to not allow any offers from the website or O2, but if it is it would be easier for the staff to know as well, so they can inform the customers. It is not pleasant to be told two different things. Other than that the staff is very friendly.
