The Meating Room — Restaurant in St Albans

This place has a lot of potential but a few floors they need to address!

Firstly for the food alone would have given it 5 starts because it is one of the best burgers i have had. Unfortunately we added eggs to two of our burgers both of which were over cooked, so next time probably isn't worth the extra money.

Now to the downsides: It seemed like we were more of an inconvenience to the people in there serving us, we were the only customers and yet other than giving us the menus (we went to bar to order, we weren't checked to see if everything was okay, we weren't even cleared, we just paid at the bar and left) they did very little other than stand on there phones. secondly they took a delivery whilst we were eating which meant they had the door open for about 5 minutes (on a cold evening) and they were putting things down the hatch right next to the table we were eating on (surely they could have waited till we had finished eating?)

All in all the food was good but the service left something...

Really clean environment, great seating areas with staff on hand to help. Milkshakes were very good, and the burgers were fantastic, as were our sweet potato fries and onion rings. Kids burger looked delicious and was devoured by our 8 year old in minutes, so thoroughly enjoyed! Reasonable pricing for a family of 4 given the quality of our food and portion sizes (which were also very good) the only downside is that our 9 year old went for the chicken nuggets, and they were clearly from frozen. They were OK, in that she ate them but didn't enjoy them. Some had been over fried and hard, which she gave away to us, so didn't actually eat very much. Lesson learnt, and we will be going for the kids' burgers next time. In the whole, a good experience and ideal for families. Service was speedy, which was good if you wanted to be out quickly and as it was late...

Visited The Meating Room with my boyfriend and friend yesterday evening and we're all really impressed. Our orders and the service we received we're all spot on! I'm neither vegan or vegetarian but wanted a non-meat option and ordered the falafel burger which was delicious and the rosemary fries were the perfect side. Attentive and friendly service. The restaurant was warm and cosy and the facilities are very nice. Highly recommended and looking forward to...
