Villa 2 Lounge Bar — Restaurant in St Albans

Unfortunately my experience at villa 2 lounge was not a good one at all. My Maid of honour booked this place for my Hen do and although the reviews are great and the photos look amazing this is not the experience we had. We booked this venue a good 6 weeks in advance with Freddy who over the phone was very attentive and charming, we were asked if we would like a private VIP room which we declined as we wanted to experience the full atmosphere of the restaurant and did not want to be in a room by ourselves, a table was booked for dinner and drinks for 5pm. On arrival we were told that the football was showing and that our table had been given away and we were now being sat in the VIP which was actually up the stairs in the roof of the building it was dark and no background music at all, it consisted of a few very small very low tables and a few stalls which we had to drag altogether ourselves to make one big table, there was no dinner set up no cutlery nothing.. My maid of honour was extremely upset. Freddy came up the stairs looking rather stressed out, no smiles or a greeting or anything just asked if we needed the food menu which i replied yes please it was always booked as a sit down meal which to then Freddy ignored and walked off after dumping the menus down and I didn't see him again. Now I understand that the football is a big thing and I myself have watched quite a few games this year but not once was it mentioned that it would be showing, my Maid of honour had quite a few chats with Freddy leading up to the day and we think it could of been mentioned to us that this was the case so we could of made up our mind weather to stay or change to a venue more suited to a hen do. On the whole this ended up with our party of 15 woman feeling very unhappy with the situation and very neglected forcing us to end the night and leave early which was hugely disappointing for me as you only get 1 hen do right?? and that is now what I will remember.. Also my Maid of honour spent 100's on a wasted night and is still quite upset. Villa 2 lounge we feel very let down with this and I hope you do better with future hen parties in the future. 0 stars!! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! The Villa 2 lounge bar was, in my personal opinion, a less than satisfactory establishment from a customer service standpoint. I would hesitate to recommend it to others based on my own experience.

Our reservations for a party of 15 to celebrate a friend's hen do were made two months in advance. As the maid of honor, I took great care in selecting a venue that would provide an enjoyable evening for our group. Despite the seemingly positive reviews that led to my initial decision, our actual experience at the venue left much to be desired.

Our reservation for Saturday, July 6th at 5:00 pm included dinner and drinks at a table downstairs. However, upon arrival, we were informed that our table had been given to another party. Despite assurances that a table would be provided, the atmosphere was more to a sports pub rather than the lounge bar experience we were anticipating. This, coupled with being seated in a dark dull private room upstairs that lacked music and ambiance, left us feeling neglected and disappointed. Which the venue also attempted to charge us a fee for!!!

The poor service, poor food, and overall disregard for our group further exacerbated our negative impression of the venue. Communication with Freddie from the venue were all in good order prior to the event but unfortunately attempts to address our concerns with the management post-event were met with unresponsiveness, adding to our frustration. If the Venue was holding a sports event we would have greatly appreciated a warning so we could have made a decision based on this information. It’s not the experience we anticipated. And unfortunately it’s not one we can recreate for our bride to be. I am disappointed in the amount of money I invested in this venue considering the subpar experience I received.

In conclusion, I sincerely hope that others are spared the disappointment and disillusionment that ruin our special celebration at Villa 2 lounge bar.

Amazing Fun night with brilliant music, great management, delicious food and lively fun atmosphere.

We hired the upstairs Mezzanine  for my brothers 50th for 18 people or so  and the service and attention to detail was second to none both leading up the event and on the night .

We dealt mainly with Freddie, one of the managers there, who is an absolute delight to work with, so friendly, smiley and accommodating. I had several trips there beforehand to look at the mezzanine space upstairs to plan decorating it and look at menus etc and always met with a smile and a delicious courtesy coffee.

I went their on the morning of the event to decorate with a balloon arch and to arrange the tables how I wanted them and decorate them also, Freddie allowed me to have my own music playlist which really was the icing on the cake as it was all my brothers fave tunes and it had us dancing and singing all night long (which was no problem either).

The tapas food and cocktails were amazing - so delicious and the venue is just stunning, the right amount of classy and comfort and spacious too with a great sound system and a lovey outside space too.

Thoroughly recommend you  go and speak to Freddie or Elvis, yes Elvis :) to hire or just eat and drink.

It's always lively and a good atmosphere with great music and delicious food (good for sharing also)
