Goya Bistro — Restaurant in St Helens

Visited again in March 2024. What a fabulous experience ... Goya also do cooking classes. Given as a present, we attended a cooking class; we got to see how it was cooked first and then cooked our own yellow curry (many other meal options exist, just ask!) under excellent direction. It was brilliant fun. All the ingredients were ready and waiting for us and all we had to do was listen and enjoy. We got to take away what we cooked plus eat the professionally cooked meal. Learnt so much ... many new and correct ways to cook a curry and what to look out for in the ingredients to use too. Brilliant time.😄 Below is a review about the restaurant! This is an absolute gem. This tiny little restaurant on the main high street in Newton is a must go to. It has the best tasting Thai meals on offer and such friendly staff. They can prepare meal as vegan options for some but not all dishes - for example, the Massaman curry is simply wonderful. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our table was for 12 people and the staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and attentive. Goya encouraged our younger family members to be a little bit more adventurous with their flavour choices and its was great to see them enjoying something they wouldn't usually want to eat. The portions were generous and the flavours were delicious. We've been to Thailand many times and the food at Goya reminded us of some of the amazing food we've enjoyed there.
