The place we usually go pumpkin picking wasn’t open this year so a friend recommended the Hayloft….
For a start the parking was SO organised! No chaos whatsoever. Staff directed you on where to park and guided you. So friendly and giving the kids a little wave too!
The pumpkins are incredible and perfectly priced. Whatever style of pumpkin you want it’s there! All colours, textures and sizes.
There was a miniature railway. The gentleman who operated it was so kind and knowledgeable telling us about the area. Really interesting and you can see how passionate he is about his job!
There is also a corn maze. So many spooky decorations in there (not just a few bits bought from the shops) but ones that have been made and put together. They were brilliant! There was also a game in the maze. Find all the letters write them down and then unscramble them at the end to win some sweets. The kids loved this!! (Age 5 & 2). We also bought 4 cobs of corn for our tea that night!
The cafe is beautiful inside! The food is also reasonably priced and delicious! The food was served fast and they have their system down to perfection in there! Staff were also so friendly!
We left with some in incredible pumpkins, happy kids and some toffee apples!
…..Our new favourite place to pumpkin pick! We will definitely be coming back next year! 🌽🎃🌾 10/10!!! Tysm for the best...
Read moreDisappointed. Rotten pumpkins 😥 Overall the place was good. Lots of parking and easy access to the pumpkin field. However as soon as we saw it we could clearly see that at least 2/3 of the pumpkins were rotten / broken / generally not nice to look at. It really was a field of rotten vegetables and we had to walk some distance to find one that was whole. We could see that the sweetcorn was the same. Perhaphs we went at the wrong time? But they should have told us this in the car park. Our toddler enjoyed it all the same. A few 'hanging men' and goasties along the way which were good. We didnt try the maze as our child was too young to have enjoyed it but we did go on the train. The driver was really friendly, but again - disappointing. £7.50 to travel to the end of the field and back. Half a dozen animals under cover which was lovely. A children's play area which was fab. I'd say it was like an outside play area but under cover. My toddler (and us adults!) all enjoyed it. A lovely cafe and the staff were great. But again, £15 for 2 hot chocs, a child's hot choc and 2 cakes was expensive in my view. We decided against lunch on that basis. The day cost us £27 for 2 adults and 1 toddler and we had a good day out cos we made the most of it but certainly the pumpkins were disappointing and prices need to be reviewed. Will look elsewhere...
Read moreFinally decided to come here for a cup of tea and a nosey this morning and I wasn't disappointed. It's so much more than just a barn cafe, it sells a great selection of ice creams, has ample space and designated play areas indoors and outdoors for children, ponies, sheep, fields and fields of beautiful scenery. It is just a lovely setting, the building itself has been tastefully designed in keeping with its surroundings (my fav feature is the light cables looped around the beams- so cool!! Oh and the big buckets as basins!!) Plenty of staff to look after everyone, they are all so efficient, friendly and professional. We chose our table and ordered at the counter with our table number. Easy peasy enough. Love the scaffolding design for the table legs, gorgeous wood everywhere, feels so organic. A real must visit destination where you can relax and catch up with friends and if you have children, they will be entertained too!! Oh and I nearly forgot to mention the amazing cake selection, all looks home made, extra points there!! Can't wait to go again, saw a really big long table and bench area.... maybe there will be some craft making classes there soon? Or a place to go for a drink when they get an alcohol licence? The possibilities are endless. So exciting having somewhere to go that is so stylish and...
