Visited with family on a visit to Towers as was closest place to eat nearby. Upon arrival the staff didn't feel very welcoming and friendly, I ordered the chicken burger, two of my silbings ordered a normal beef burger. They brought me a burger which looked identical to the beef burgers my silbings ordered, and looked brown/black which is not the normal look of a chicken burger. I went up to the counter to mention it was wrong, and said she'll get it changed, then only to bring back a beef burger after having to awkwardly sit whilst all my silbings ate. We said this is a beef burger again, but the waitress with blonde hair and glasses couldn't care any less, she just shrugged her shoulders then walked off. None of the staff seemed to care that they messed up my order and caused hassle. If they just said it's actually a chicken burger but it's just the way it looks in the first case when I told them it was wrong, I would've of understood but to be messed about and just been shrugged off is very rude and ignorant. The plates on our table were left for ages and we were left ignored. The waitresses couldn't care less about their paying customers and after mentioning to them, didn't offer anything to compensate it. Overall very rude staff and a very cliquey atmosphere, better off eating on the Resort or elsewhere to avoid all the stress and hassle. Definitely not worth the money.

What can I say about this pub, but I wish I could take it home so I can have a nice pub to eat locally lol. It is a lovely little pub. Love the lay out and decor of it. I included a picture of the bathroom because where I'm from, a lot of toilets are just a shambles, whereas these toilets stay with the theme of the pub. But more importantly they are CLEAN! The staff are friendly, polite and accommodating. The menu has a good selection of dishes. My partner ordered the steak and he had a smile on him the whole time eating it. Was cooked to perfection. As for me, I had the chicken and leek pie, mash potato and peas. All of it again was perfect. The peas were fresh. The mash potato was the perfect consistency and the pie was spot on. I was so full I could not have dessert which is a big thing for me as I have a major sweet tooth. But I was extremely satisfied with just the one Dish. We enjoyed the meal so much we decided to book a table for the following night. This time burger and chips... Again tasted amazing and the desert, biscoff cheesecake and ice cream. Wow. This time I was smiling earlier to ear.

Googled best pub near Alton towers for a cheeky bit of scran on the way home and this was showing as the best one. I’ve got to say I was very impressed with the service, however, the waiters customer service voice did sound a bit fake. Nevertheless it was evident he was very good at his job. Our food was goo. The starters were mediocre and quite pricy for what they were and the burger was a bit too greasy… but still presented very well and done to a high standard for a back street boozer. We did get chatting to a couple next to us about his kebab and he said it was horrible, but then said he was too polite to complain. We then observed a family also discuss their disappointment with the kebab. Overall, lovely little pub with a great aesthetic in the restaurant. Thank you

Had high hopes for this place. We’d booked to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we left very disappointed and a little upset. Granted, we didn’t complain at the time because it was a special day for us so we wanted to carry on our evening and left as soon as we’d somewhat ate the food. The biggest disappointment was asking for the pie of the day at 6.40pm (when we ordered our food) to be told it’s not available today. We were so shocked when just 10 minutes later the table next to us got seated and they were told the pie of the day would be available in 10 minutes so if they wanted to order it they’d be a bit of a wait! We instantly felt annoyed as it was the same server that served us! When we asked for the pie it would had been nice to have been told the same thing and given the same option, it didn’t help that every table after us got told about the pie of the day to rub it in. My husband was so disappointed as he wanted it to be a lovely rare night out for us but this instantly made him angry. Which is also why I told him to not complain as he was so angry I thought it best we just leave! We ordered the chicken & steak kebabs instead which my husband didn’t eat his at all as it was very processed tasting (and not the pie he wanted). The fries were nice though. I ate some of mine but it had chunky carrot & courgettes in which in my opinion just didn’t go and were very hard to chew as they were rock hard. The only nice thing was the decoration of this place was beautiful. It could be an amazing pub but we weren’t impressed with the service we received or the food. A memorable occasion that won’t be a nice memory for us sadly so won’t...

I came across The Bulls Head Inn totally by accident when I was looking for somewhere to stay near to Alton Towers. They had the exact number of rooms that I needed for my party and from the beginning when I was making arrangements and bookings, the staff were extremely helpful.

The woman who met us was very understanding and showed us all to our rooms even though we took her away from the bar several times during a busy Friday night. The restaurant staff weren't fazed by this and took our orders and provided us with some delicious food without missing a beat, right up until after 9.30.

The rooms were comfortable and well-situated, although there wasn't much in the way of toiletries. Another possible downside might be the location of the shared bathroom in the family room. It is right between two adjoining doubles which means that whoever is staying in the attic room can't leave if the bathroom is occupied! Still, this wasn't a problem for our group.

Breakfast options were varied and plentiful, setting us up for a full day of amusement park on both Saturday and Sunday, and the location is perfect as we were in the Alton Towers car park in less than ten minutes. We were in the restaurant again on the second evening and the size and atmosphere were excellent. Staff once again were exceptionally friendly and attentive and I can't thank them enough for making the weekend so much fun.

All in all, I thoroughly recommend The Bull's Head Inn and would...

Was in here yesterday after a recommendation. Staff were friendly however could be slightly more attentive. We ordered food and once we had sat for over an hour without any food and nobody spoke with us to explain what was going on. We enquired and the lovely bar girl let us know that there were struggles in the kitchen she apologised and did try to rectify it by offering us both a drink on the house. The starter came around 1 hour 20mins after being seated. The small plates were very tasty.

We didn’t wait too long for main course which was a calzone and the stake pie. Although I asked for chips was given mash but that’s an easy mistake so we let this go. The calzone’s dough was under cooked but the filling was tasty. The steak pie’s meat was beautiful cooked however pie lid was under cooked and raw on the bottom. The mash potatoes were a disaster, don’t think they were home made, almost like a paste and wasn’t able to eat it. Due to how long we had waited for food we didn’t want to further complain due to the bar girl trying to put in every effort to make out dinner as good as she could. We did hear that it was a new chef and there had been issues but it wasn’t a great experience.

I would say the appearance of the place is very nice atmosphere was not the best dude to other customers like ourself not happy with the food. Would come again but only for a drink in future as the food...
