I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the service my party and I received during our visit to your establishment on 21/08/2025. The unprofessional conduct of both a waitress and the manager, Alistair, resulted in an incredibly disappointing experience. Several issues occurred during our visit, which I will outline below: Service and Order Issues: A friend's drink order was not delivered in a timely manner, arriving well after their food. When we inquired about the missing drink, the waitress responded unprofessionally, stating that the matter was "not her problem." Furthermore, my son's pizza order was incorrect. After demanding the receipt, the waitress took the incorrect pizza without apology. The replacement pizza, a Margherita, was returned to the table with cold ham simply thrown on top. Managerial Misconduct: Following the issues with the food, I requested to speak with the manager, Alistair. His immediate and unprovoked hostility was deeply concerning. He was dismissive of my complaint, claiming that my behavior was "unacceptable" and that the waitress's rudeness was a direct result of my complaint. This interaction was not only unprofessional but also served to escalate the situation. Lack of Resolution: Despite the multiple failures in service and a clear demonstration of incompetence, no apologies were ever offered by the staff. After a third pizza was offered, I requested a refund for my son's meal, as he was now visibly upset. Alistair proceeded to deliver the third pizza, which he "basically threw" onto our table, and then threw the refund receipt at me. He refused to provide the waitress's name and continued to place blame on me for the mistakes. This experience was appalling and demonstrates a clear failure in customer service and management training. The manager, Alistair, handled the complaint with a shocking level of rudeness and hostility, making the situation worse rather than working towards a resolution. The waitress also requires basic training on how to handle customer interactions and orders professionally. I trust that you will take this complaint seriously and address these issues with the utmost urgency. The conduct of these staff members is a detriment to your business's reputation and creates an unwelcoming environment for...

I am absolutely appalled at the way I was treated by the manager (al) and the waitress at this pub. To start my friends food arrived way before the drink, when we asked the waitress for the drink we were told that this wasn’t her problem. My son’s pizza then arrived wrong (margarita rather than ham and cheese) she took this off me after demanding to see the receipt (no apology for any inconvenience) and I then went to the bar to collect my friends drink. The pizza that returned was the same one however this time it had cold ham thrown on top. I asked the waitress to speak to the manager as this is obviously not on. She then went to the manager who did a thumbs up/down to the waitress and when I said I was really unhappy she went over and whispered something to him. Straight off the bat he was incredibly rude to me, made out that the waitress was only being rude because I was complaining and said that my behaviour was unacceptable (I was fine until he started to have a go at me straight away) I got upset as anyone would after this treatment and he said he’d get another pizza. No apology was ever given to me by any member of staff just hostility. I asked for a refund for the pizza at this point because it was the third pizza that was going to be bought to us and my son was sat at the table upset because everyone else had their food but him. Al then basically threw this pizza at our table and when I asked for his name and the waitresses name refused. He eventually gave me his name because the table next to me started to say things to him but refused to give us the waitresses name. He then threw the refund receipt at me and once again blamed me for all the mistakes that had happened. Not once did I receive an apology from any member of staff. I’m completely appalled by the way that this so called ‘manager’ dealt with this matter. He urgently needs training on how to deal with a complaint rather than making the situation worse. The waitress needs basic waitressing training because it wasn’t just our table who were saying how rude her service was. Al is also Alistair going by the receipt that was...

That's an ok pub if you want a cheap drink and if you aren't too bothered about selection and quality of food. Rare steak can come as medium here and the sausages are terrible. No healthy choices but they do quite a decent jacket potato. No music in the pub which is a bit depressive when it's quiet. Yet, l do like the atmosphere in the pub. Staff is friendly and helpful. Drinks are cheap. Coffee and latte cost little and can be refilled. The best thing for me here is breakfast. I love eggs Benedict or Mushroom Benedict. They are cooked nicely here. I also like tomato and basil soup.

2020:

After 7 years of going to this pub l actually decided to review my feedback as my opinion about this pub has improved. After visiting a few Wetherspoons in the country, l must say that Cheadle Wetherspoons is actually quite good in its range. Yes, they probably don't have enough healthy options but it's not their fault. The food they do here is always done well. Steaks are better cooked now, morning meals and curries are so much better than in the local Master Potter. The best impression for me is the staff. They all are lovely people who work hard and always ready to help. Great team, l love coming here because they do make an effort. I wished they were wrapping forks and knives properly with the tissues though (on the top) so when they laid on the tables, they wouldn't touch the surface.

My son has just added: the plates look really nice and the building inside is good😆 So let's count this as two more...

We had to ask for the table to be cleaned. It was like asking for a favour. Ordered fish and chips. Fried scampi. Grilled chicken with bacon and Mediterranean salad. The chips were half raw. The salad was slimy and off. Chicken was overcooked and dry. As it's been micro oven heated. The glasses were dirty. The air smells at someone has peed. Please sort your pub out. I've eaten at others and not as bad as this.

5 stars for sure! The meals we ordered (drinks included) were nothing short of amazing. Great portion sizes, especially for the price. All meals were less than 10 pounds, with drinks. The fish and chips (what I ordered) were spectacular, and the burger (what my dad had) were really nice. I would come here again!

The issue is it is a wetherspoons so it's not good it's not bad it's some where in the middle, the food is what you pay for, the drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is typical of the town. Sum it up it's not good it's not bad it's a Wetherspoon
