If you have allergies or any intolerances please don't go here! I went for lunch yesterday and asked if they could cater of Ceoliac (gluten free), and they said yes. The lady came over to take my order of jacket potato, I asked if the butter was the same one they use for other items, as I cannot have this in contact, as the slightest breadcrumb can make me seriously ill. The lady turned her noise up at me, took my order. When the lady brought my lunch over I double checked, and she assured me it was all good. It was not fine, I have been sick, terrible tummy aches, and had head fog. I went back this morning, to explain what happened and the same lady who served me was the one I spoke to and she was not helpful and did not want to know. I explained that if was someone with allergies got contaminated food may end up in hospital, or worse. She was not bothered and not helpful at all. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OR...

Lovely Decor. Reasonably priced menu. Not a vegan myself, but plenty of Vegan food options. Kids menu items also. Food very well presented and tastey. Weird large bubble/bump in the wood effect laminate floor near the service counter to look out for, especially if you're elderly or are prone to losing balance or falling. I nearly lost my balance when I stepped on it and the flooring deflated beneath my feet. Would be good if the business owner could sort that out, as doing so would have made the experience for first time customers such as myself perfect otherwise. All in all though, lovely new cafe that offers more contemporary food choices compared to nearby competitor cafes which are either old-fashioned english greasy spoons or massive american tax-dodging corporate franchise services...

Chateau Cafe stands out in town because of its French style decor and seating. The menu items are the usual coffee shop suspects like eggs Royal and benedict but with a healthy twist of smashed avocado. They also do gluten free cakes and a good choices of teas. Ordered the avocado royale because the Basil dressing sounded good but it turns out to be a typo because it was balsamic dressing. The tea menu was more detailed on the wall compared to the printed menu so if I had seen that I would have ordered the green...
