Old Post Office Stevenage — Restaurant in Stevenage

Was ok !!!! But could have been better if when something you have ordered was not available someone took the bother to tell you and not just turn up with an alternative and still not inform you or even apologise . It did not appear to be busy but for some reason it seemed to take forever for the food to arrive but the saving grace was that we all enjoyed and thought the food was good.

My cousin has a health problem at the moment and due to this and medication he is on he is very large and bloated and I thought it was very poor and insensitive of 4 members of staff standing at the end of the bar staring at him as he walked out and obviously make comments to each other untill I called out to them with a thank you which then prompted them to look at me and not him. So Sad people just judge others they don't even know.

After a shopping expedition in Stevenage my partner and I fancied a bite to eat. Our usual port of call, The Standard Bearer, Wetherspoon’s, wasn’t serving food so we tried the Old Post Office.

Good ale range and extensive, basic menu so ordered fish shop platter, lasagne, a pint and cranberry juice. At £15.44 very reasonable. But then things deteriorated. The food took 45 minutes to arrive! Although fairly busy with food orders it should never have taken that long. While just about edible, and we were famished, it appeared that the food had sat under heat lamps for a while as drying out. The lasagne was luke warm in the middle. The meals were quite disappointing.

Chloe was my server, she's always been nothing but amazing to be honest. Always checking on her customers to ensure their meals and drinks are okay. She's bubbly and always wearing a smile despite how busy the pub gets, nothings ever too much trouble. I have a dog with me and she was most welcoming towards him and showed my dog the same respect that she gives her customers, always making sure he's okay for food and water. He's most certainly warmed up and got a soft spot for her which is outstanding seens he's got anxiety and is normally really reluctant to greet new people. Now when we walk in he looks for her 🤭.
