Peri Peri Original — Restaurant in Stevenage

You know what ... the food isn't the worst. I got a little platter, which consists of a quarter piece of chicken, 2 wings and two chicken stripes with the hot option, Fries and a chicken fillet burger. Lets start with the burger... nothing special tbh, it wasn't crispy and it only had lettuce and mayo, what do I expect for £3.99??? Well this is very true but if they had a wickedly crispy batter on that chicken burger and added some pickles ..... they'd have a smashing signature £3.99 chicken burger! Which I would've sung about lol. As for the platter the best things in this meal was the Wings and the fries .... the chicken and the strips where too damn dry, even the dog was like "I don't think so mate!" I did get a free Chilli sauce from bossman... although thos tasted like an Indian tamarind sauce. The sauce options also need to improve ... if they see all the social media chicken spots, they may want to up their game. The customer service wasn't great either, there may be a language barrier but smiles don't cost anything....

Used to be very good but ordered a peri peri double chicken breast burger this evening (24/01/25) and the chicken breast was pink in the middle.

When we telephoned to complain they said it couldn't be undercooked, would be ok to eat and refused to replace it.

Instead the shop said they said they would refund and send the driver to collect the burger!!!

As of 28/01/25 still have not received the refund that was promised so have now instigated a charge back through my card issuer.

Neither have they collected the burger which we obviously have now disposed of as it is 4 days later.

Again this proves they were lying all along and weren't...

Wasn't the best original peri peri I had, was close to closing about 9pm on a Saturday night, wanted to eat in they brought it to the table but missing salad and guy who brought my drink didn't even ask what drink I wanted just bought a coke, there is no garlic and chilli sauce like you get from the other original peri peri places just big standard mayonnaise and their chillin sauce is very bad. Could do with some...
