T J's Cafe — Restaurant in Stevenage

We have been coming to this cafe on and off for years.

We went last Saturday and were very impressed by the quality of the food and the size of the portions ! I had a full breakfast at £5.10 which includes fried bread as well as toast AND a free coffee (very nice) or tea; my fella had the big breakfast and it came on the biggest plate ever ! With this breakfast, they offer either hash browns or black pudding which is a new thing and very welcomed. You are allowed to swap one item on your breakfast but you dont really need more than that as you get most other things

Very tasty, quick to serve and a great place to come - it does get busy so you may find you get there and you cannot get in to sit....its all down...

Went yesterday with my children as I live locally but had never been. Prefer to support independents than a chain. Was served by the most unfriendly women I’ve ever met. So miserable it was actually rude. I felt so uncomfortable from start to finish as if we were an inconvenience to her. Food was fine, as expected for the prices but the atmosphere was honestly the worst I’ve ever experienced and I couldn’t wait to get out. Not a place I'd recommend if you were vegetarian (for breakfast) unless you are happy with egg on toast. The food was nice. The toast was a bit hard for me (didn't stop me finishing it though). I wish I could substitute more stuff so had to settle with some items. The service was good. Even offered us some jam/marmite to finish our toast off. Overall, a...
