Cafe on the Lane — Restaurant in Stockport

Cracking little cafe! This place is another little gem, by the owners of Sol's next door. Been going to Sol's for years and saw this as it was being refurbed ready for opening. It's been open for 2 weeks now so we thought we'd give it a go. It's always been busy when I've been past and I can see why. We love everything about it. The decor and atmosphere are lovely...very homely, fresh, clean and welcoming. The staff are really helpful and friendly and happy to accomodate slight tweaks to the menu. The food and drinks are just perfect. Tasty, freshly made, perfectly cooked and good value for money. We'll definitely be back to try something else...although I could eat the meze platter every day and not get bored with it! Would definitely...

Hope you get to read this Mike, On the 1st Aug 11.45am. Entered the Cafe, asked to be outside. Was told to take a seat and someone will be out with menus. Seated between 5 to 10 min. Young couple with child arrived 10 mins after us sits near us. Immediately is offered menus by a young waitress. Comes back 5 min later takes their order, starts to walk away. I ask for the menus jestering to my table. I'm then accused of shouting and been rude. I hope you have CCTV for that area to see I most certainly didn't shout and me being rude. Read so many excellent reviews about this bistro that my young son & I decided to pay a visit & I must say that it was so worth it... The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly.. it was very welcoming.. we ordered our food & it arrived within 10 minutes.. great service..my son had the English breakfast which looked & tasted delicious.. I had the halloumi & spinach panini with a side salad & crisps which I thoroughly enjoyed.. excellent food at a very reasonable cost.. great atmosphere.. will...
