Platform One Romiley — Restaurant in Stockport

We visited Platform 1 on Sunday 4th February for lunch. It was a family occasion and there were 11 of us in our party. We had been a few times before and had always enjoyed the food and had good service so I was quite confident with my choice when I made the booking . We were seated in the Snug area and the waitress took our drinks order (so far so good) We were given menus and proceeded to make our choices. When the waitress came to take our orders (after me having to go to tell her we were ready to order) we were told various dishes were not available i.e. turkey and burgers. Would it not have been better practise to have told us what was not available when giving out the menus? Our party which included children , then waited nearly an hour for the starters to be served!! When I complained to the waitress I was told that staff training was in progress and that some reorganisation was going on. To be honest that isn't my problem ! As a paying customer if you have taken my booking I expect the service and the quality of the food to be as it usually is or if you can't guarantee that standard you shouldn't take the booking for such a large party. The main courses were also very slow to be served and the standard of the food was disappointing when it arrived. I complained to the waitresses ( who seemed completely uninterested and unhelpful!) I told them I was not prepared to pay full price for what had been a disappointing meal with terrible service! I left at this point as my elderly Mum felt unwell and my daughter spoke to the manager who offered a reduction in our bill. I was also told that he would telephone me to apologise but after nearly a week I am still awaiting a call!! Our much anticipated family gathering was spoilt. EXTREMELY...

Menus been changed and not for the better ,

Took mum for early Mother’s Day lunch , totally waste of time and money , both me and mum had to go home and sort lunch out :(.

Frozen barms , raw bacon , cold gravy , veg cold ,

I have been going in the pub for years and always recommend to my family and friends , but I wouldn’t waste my money in there ever again :(

Such a shame it’s used to be so busy at lunch times today was very quite one member of staff working who was lovely and could tell she was doing her best , well done to you , but the food and menu definitely is letting it down …

They did take food off but still not the point , When you go for food and 2 members of 5 go...

First time back here in a few years and what a downturn! The food was disgusting. Burnt Yorkshire puddings. Roast potatoes that were near impossible to cut. Fatty steak and ALL 3 meals were the same. I'll not be returning. We did not raise this on the day simply because the food was constantly bad, all 3 meals were burnt and inedible which in my eyes reflected accurately the establishments quality control on food going out of the kitchen. And I didn’t want look like we was out for a free meal! Which some owners, not all, may try to offer to deter you from reviewing accurately! Sorry, just...
