Had a gluten free sandwich... bread underneath was obvs defrosted and soaking wet and the salad very basic.... as I'm allergic to gluten I won't be coming here again sorry as the food was horrible the top piece of bread stale and the bottom wet I would have done 10 times better myself even my 5 year old could make a better blt Tried again today June 2024 and even more dissapointed to be honest, really disgusted, no gluten free bread no gluten free options no one told us until we went to order and the silly thing is they had no gluten free bread and there is a shop 1 minute away that sells gluten free bread but the staff appear they would rather I sit quietly and watch my family eat while I can't the manager responce was I wasn't told, and to me she's the manager and should know the day to day running of her own establishment. My responce to your responce.... When speaking to staff reg the lack of stock or options they did not apologise they didn't seem bothered and they had a terrible attitude especially the girl behind the bar then after I told them I was dissapointed they then stopped around the bar sulking with a moody face I think it's disrespectful, it makes for a terrible uncomfortable atmosphere and they should have some want to care for customers or at least talk to them with respect when working in hospitality, this is why the atmosphere and service was also a 1 but you don't seem to be bothered by those scores or the attitude of your staff towards customers. Also the staff responded with I didn't know, well they should be prepped for the day and know what you have and what you don't and tell the customers when handing them the menu instead of have them read it for 20 mins especially when they requested an allergy menu, and instead of saying I'm sorry they just said I didn't know "blame game" without an apology or any sincerity which is very rude. But thanks for the...
Read moreReally disappointing, my daughter went to this pub where she has gone since she was a child and has very fond memories and happy times of being there because the staff were so lovely but this wasn't the case when she went the other day the first time visiting since 2019 (because of COVID-19) the place doesn't have that family warm feeling anymore, my daughter walked in with her dog (The pub is dog friendly) and my daughter is greeted by a woman in her (around) 20s with black hair tied up working in the bar area who gave my daughter an aggressive, nasty look and then started looking her up and down and my daughter ordered and sat down, the same lady came over looked her straight in the eyes and firmly put the papuccino (for the dog) on the table without saying anything she walked off she didn't this another 2 times with a second pupuccino and doggy ice cream and she kept on giving my daughter dirty looks, she made my daughter feel she has done something wrong which my daughter didn't understand because the woman was so lovely with everyone else. My daughter got upset when she came back home because the woman was just so horrible with her which is a shame because this was a place my daughter to come with her parents, grandparents, friends and partner but unfortunately we won't be coming back again with any of our family or friends this experience for my daughter was really hurtful and...

updated august 2025. They now seem to have a resident skip in the carpark, right next to the kitchen.... month's it's been there and it's full..... great sight when customers first arrive*
Popped in whilst waiting for the train. Staff sat/stood round in mobile phones whilst customers are waiting to be served. Glasses and plates everywhere waiting to be collected.
Upon finally being served, I asked if they have been busy.....no it's January was the reply.....well why is the pub not clean
Whilst sat there I could hear the staff complaining about customers and speaking out of term about them.
Hopefully the next time I visit things will be different, as the pub has...
