I am extremely disappointed with our experience of The Bulls Head. Whoever created their website has done a brilliant job in making an average pub look like a welcoming dining establishment serving what looks like delicious food. When we entered, afer looking around, there was no obvious signs that any tables or areas were for food. We found a table and ordered from the bar. So far, so good. After over half an hour, our food came out and was given to customers sat on a different table. They immediately tucked into one of the dishes, the pizza, while looking confused about the other three plates of burgers. After complaining to the waitress that their order was wrong, she went to the kitchen, then came back to our table with a receipt and asked if it was what we had ordered. Yes, it was. She then proceeded to pick up the plates of burgers from the other table and gave them to us. Insisting that they had not been touched by the other customers. How could she have known this as she had left the room? The pizza remained on the other table as this had begun to be eaten. So not only was we presented with food that had been sat on another table for a few minutes, touched or untouched by them, but it was obviously cooling down, and we were missing a meal. The missing meal came out ten minutes later when we was over halfway through our dishes. The server was extremely uninterested and offered an abrupt apology with no feeling at all. She just didn't care. The pizza was burnt on the top and soggy underneath. The Rustic fries were actually chunky chips and the burgers were just ok. They reminded me of McDonald's burgers that look great in the adverts but disappointing when you receive them. We very much doubt that we will...
Read moreI called in with a friend, and we both decided to have the steak.. Both steaks were served, and both were weirdly cooked, Half the steak was fine, but the other half was so tough, and possibly uncooked, that I struggled to cut it with the steak knife.. We told the waitress, she said she would tell the chef, and then never bothered coming back to relay his comments to us...as we had paid before we had had the meal, it was pointless hanging around, so won't be going there again...
Read moreWent to watch my mum's band sing here, "90 proof". Good venue overall. Very cramped by the band but still people were up dancing and the atmosphere was good. Bar staff were alright on the whole but gave the impression they didn't want to be there. VERY warm inside this pub when it gets busy too. In terms of location it's amazing. A great pitstop point on High Lane, and lots of history nearby with the middlewood way historic train line. Would go back here a 2nd time...
