If you are a woman think twice about going there alone or doing a party for ladies there. We have been harassed multiple times here. Even though we agreed to have a ladies only party here and we have been assured that we will be given full privacy with cameras off and female staff given that my alot of my guests wear hijab . None of those promises were kept. We agreed to have the place reserved for us from 1 to 5 and we discovered he did not turn off the cameras and kept trying to postpone it when my friend confronted him. The manager entered the party multiple times and insisted that he wants to serve the food himself because he serves it “ a certain way” and his female staff can’t do it. Bear in mind this was never communicated before by him.
He later expressed- during the event was taking place- that he is not happy reserving the conservatory for only 20 people and that he doesn’t want to do it anymore. This was such a coward and ill intentioned behaviour as he simply could said that the night before while i confirmed the number of guests with him over the phone.
Even the waitresses were appalled by his such poor manner.
If you still want to consider the place for any occasion, have a man with you to deal with him and WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN because the amount of lies that have been created is unbelievable.
There are so many more details that are not enough for a review. I just wanted to do my bit and make sure no other women go through the same as our experience. Especially women of Muslim faith where our privacy is sacred and should be respected at all times instead being lied and be in alleged safe space that was actually used to sneak looks at us .
even the decorators that came to do the set up who i never had any relation to or known before have expressed to me how rude he was and the dirty looks he gave them
We did not let this ruin our special day and we decided to move the party else well and had the most amazing time.

Read moreI am very disappointed in the service I received when eating in at Yara for the first time. We decided to take our friend who was visiting from London, to eat in at Cheadle, we arrived at 9:45 and I were shown to our table in the back conservatory part. We ordered starters, mains and a bottle of wine. The waitress let us know that the kitchen closes at 10:45 so our mains will come out straight after our starters, which is fine. The starters came out quickly, but then we had nearly a 30 minute wait for our mains, which we were surprised at seeing as we were told that they wanted to get them out ASAP. 10 minutes after our mains arrived, the staff were rushing us to finish our food, they were hovering around our table and kept asking if we had finished (you could clearly see we were still eating) this got increasingly frustrating as we just wanted to eat in peace. It got to the point where we were not enjoying it anymore so we told them we were finished - they took our plates and gave us the bill. At no point were we told that they expect us to leave before 11pm, we were essentially pushed out of the restaurant and weren't even able to finish the bottle of wine. We tried to speak to the waitress to explain the situation that we were not able to finish our food or drinks and were disappointed, she proceeded to tell us that they wanted to close and the mains took longer because the kitchen staff were all upstairs cleaning and only left one chef to make all of the food and then blamed us for coming in after 9:30 as that is when they usually let the last table in. However, we were not told anything when we got in, if we were told that we would have to leave before 11pm, we would have either gone somewhere else or ordered less food/drinks.
I will not be eating at Yara anymore which is very sad as we have got takeaway a number of times and the food is delicious, i cannot fault the food at all. But for the price, and the amount that we spent (£150+) between 3 of us, i just...
Read moreI’m sad to make this review as food is good but feel need to warn others who may think this branch is good for an event as it is not. We went for an 80th, and we were rushed beyond belief. Kids food was literally shoved on rectangle plates on top of the plates there when we arrived which was unsafe, one child 2yrs old nearly had an accident thanks to it so I had to fix for the 6 children there. the starters arrived and were dumped on the table by a man with an angry expression which is poor. I asked about allergies to a member of staff and she had no idea what was in food, I said I have allergy to tree nuts and no one returned to confirm so had some else had to ask again (twice). We hadn’t had the kids dinner and starters for more than 5 mins and the mains came! There was no room on the table and most shocking a very hot dish was dumped infront of my 2 year old! He even said it was hot and thought placing infront of a child a good idea! This showed the massive lack of health and safety from the branch as I rushed to ensure my daughter was not burnt. I hadn’t finished my food or starters and they came and cleared table! I did not organise this event and aware the individual that did in our party is quite rude but the rest of us in the party are nothing like them and I would hope all people dining were treated with respect regardless of one individual, as we are all customers. I use the alderley edge branch and never had issues there. The food is lovely but will never consider Yara now for parties or gatherings...
