New Finney Gardens — Restaurant in Stoke-on-Trent

The family have been here today to celebrate Mother’s Day as we all could not do it on Sunday 👍🏼 and after going into this establishment for the last 5 to 10 years and enjoying everything about the place 😆 i’m ever so sorry to say after today the family will not be entering this establishment ever again 😔 Firstly I rang to make a reservation for Tuesday at 1 o’clock to obviously let them know my guide dog would be present 🐾 and as always they took my phone number just in case of any issues 👌🏼 So upon entering the establishment at 1 o’clock today . My dad was informed by the chef he had to cancel his dentist appointment today as they could not find my phone number to cancel our reservation with them so we would have to wait until 1:30 before ordering any food at all - which we did not mind as it gave us time to sit down and go through the menu and chat 👍🏼 so when the food reached our table my brother and my dad had all day breakfasts which had bacon and sausage missed from both 🙈 and the chips that come with every meal were black and solid on the inside ☹️ The cheese that came on my burger was not melted and I just got three blocks of cheese and all of the fizzy pop was flat 😞 They did cook bacon and sausage both for my Brother and dad but when it was brought out the plate was covered in fat 😞 and as a family we never complain about food as you never know what a chef may do to it if it goes back 👌🏼 so my mum disappeared after the meal and went to let the chef know how bad the food actually was 👍🏼 to be told if you don’t like what you get take your money elsewhere 😑 then because The chef was raising his voice to my 68-year-old mother 🤬 my brother and dad raced over to be by her side to then get arrogance and an extremely argumentative behaviour from the chef who was stood behind the bar giving my brother evils and waving his hands at my brother to get my brother to kick off !!!! All I can say folks is be very careful going into this establishment as from our experiences today you get treated shockingly and the food seriously is not up...

Christmas Day Dinner was a shambles! I wasn't going to write this but as I have seen all the 5 star reviews that have been written, I would like to express a real experience. Had to wait well over an hour for our main, we were asked by two members of staff if we had already ate it. After the main arrived, we waited another 40 minutes for pudding which I decided to go ask for as we had been sitting in the pub since 1:25 and was still waiting for the pudding at 3.40. When I asked the lady behind the bar, she was really surprised and went to check. She came back and said the chef had gone home a while ago because he said he had served everyone. Went out for a three course meal and ended up with two. A lot of sitting around and missed plans because of the waiting times. Definitely will not be returning. There was a lot of other comments we heard throughout the pub about the waiting, the food and how bad there experience had been. One couple were outed infront of the whole pub about if he had paid or not. Music kept going on and off all the time, blaring one minute, none the next. I have complained through the official website but I am still waiting...

I have been twice in the last fortnight...previously I chose the salmon you can't really go wrong with salmon...but to my dismay the top half was hard..either overcooked under a grill or microwave...last time I went was yesterday thought I'd try something different...hot turkey and stuffing baggete with chips and side salad...not hot at all just aired was cut or torn into very large pieces not very palletable...baggete was definitely microwaved should be cooked in oven so as to come out slightly crunchy on the outside...was soft and very doey the chips came out all soggy not freshly cooked at all...think the oil needs changing...not all bad news the salad was perfect although that's hard to get wrong...I had a mouthful and left the rest on my plate and to my dismay the chef removed my almost full plate and asked me if I'd enjoyed my meal...I've been going here a lot of years and am disappointed in the drop...
