Ordered a vegetarian takeaway, which on the menu didn't state that it contained paneer. Ordered vegetarian bhuna and balti, rice and poppadums which was a pricey £25.
The Bhuna and balti are under a section titled "English favourites". Never in my life have I ordered a vegetarian curry which contained paneer as standard. This should be stated on the menu by law!
When calling the restaurant to ask about it we got a very confused and rushed response and when asking for a refund the man on the phone agreed.
When returning to the restaurant we were treated like idiots that didn't know Indian cuisine, paneer is not a vegetable and should be stated on a vegetarian dish description.
Although he had previously agreed to give a refund, the waiter told us we were wrong and proceeded to get a menu and point out to us other dishes on the menu that contained paneer which didn't relate to our dish.
I have never been treated like a liar when complaining about a meal and the waiter that we spoke to was very short. He gave us a part refund of £16 which left us £10 down for a portion of rice and a few cracked poppadums.
I won't be returning here and will be telling anyone who asks about my terrible experience and service...

We started with the vegetable samosa chat, which arrived crispy and generously filled. The channa gravy had the perfect zing to wake up your taste buds. For mains, the butter chicken was creamy and rich, while the paneer tikka masala offered a perfect balance of smoky and savory. The garlic naan? Pillowy perfection.
Service was prompt and friendly, and the staff made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. The ambiance leans casual and warm, with Bollywood tunes softly playing in the background — a nice touch that adds to the charm.
The only downside? Spice levels weren't consistent. The mild dishes were very mild, but the medium ones packed unexpected heat. Be sure to clarify your heat tolerance when ordering.
Overall, Oh India is a solid choice for both Indian food aficionados and newcomers. Great food, generous portions, and a genuine love for the cuisine shine...
Read moreSurprised by the lack of traditional indian restaurant surroundings,it was very open and bright. Not as welcoming as l would of expected.Cobra beer was tasty, wine for the mrs,we both had a starter mine was the 65, which was a spicy chicken, my wife had small battered fish.I felt that it was bought in so 'frozen' not fresh. Mains- My wife had the butter chicken, the sauce on the butter chicken was tasty. I had the chicken chettinad, the sauce tasted as if it was a bit burnt,we both had pilau rice, peshwari nan(that was super nice) and bombay aloo. This was a southern indian restaurant,so l think different from the 'mainstream' indian restaurants. The food just seemed like it was not 'prepared fresh' even the butter chicken sauce, and the chicken chettinad sauce was to smooth and looked 'bought in',ok l maybe wrong, but its what I felt it was like. Also l'm not into 'kids' birthday cake, and singing 'Happy Birthday' still its near a city,so they might do things differently. Again this is just 'My opinion'.Best part of the meal was the 'Peshwari...
