This is a place that I'd really love to love. It's local, it has a wide range of food choice, it's convenient for me to get my lunch from every day while working. The disappointment is in their customer service. I've had three complaints with them over the years, only one was resolved without any bother. On average, as a single person, I spend £1500 here a year, this isn't adding to the hundreds of clients I've raved to about them in the past, and all the times I've shared their posts on social media helping support local business. Who knows know much they have made from me as one single person. Whenever there has been a disappointment with the food that I thought they'd want to know about, they simply do not care, there's never even an apology. I'm lucky if I get a response back at all. I understand it can be difficult to deliver good customer 100% of the time and that things do go wrong, but when you contact a business with a complaint, it isn't great when you are ignored multiple times without an apology, at the very least. Obviously my contribution isn't insignificant to their earnings, and my custom is not valuable. My experiences have certainly put me off from wanting to spend any more of my money there, and I won't be helping build their custom anymore. I really wish that I could love this place, but I can't while whoever is in charge don't really give a crap about their customers, the service they experience, and the quality of food customers receive.
Pros: specious place to eat with nice decor, wide variety of food, convenient if local, generally friendly staff.
Cons: extremely poor customer service when things do go wrong, environment is noisy when eating in with music suitable for a bar environment that can be quite loud, quality of food not necessarily representative of the price, take orders incorrectly, don't value...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place as Studley needs somewhere like this bakery to eat in. My first impressions weren’t super great. I really thought they would do iced coffees but they don’t. I ordered a hot sausage roll (which was lukewarm so if you want your pasty hot I recommend asking for it reheating), and a cake. I asked what was inside a specific pastry but the lady didn’t know, she asked around and told me. I said I’ll take the brownie instead, unfortunately I received the pastry but didn’t see until I got home as I didn’t watch her pack it. Not much fresh bread left on Saturday afternoon which is a shame as I wanted a loaf, but I guess they sell out quickly during the week. If you want to sit-in I recommend coming early as Saturday lunchtime was rammed, and upstairs seating was closed. Not really any queuing system at the till so hard to see who’s hanging around and who’s queuing. Want to come back and try again and will change the review if that...
Read moreFood is of high quality and delicious, both the baked items and the menu of the restaurant. Service is very friendly, smiley and super attentive. However, the noise level in the restaurant is horrendous. It may be the acoustics of the building but the noise level is what you’d expect on a Saturday night in a busy pub. Chatter from customers, ringing phones, machinery of the bakery and the radio blasting on top of everything else. You can’t catch a quiet thought, let alone have a decent conversation without feeling the need to shout. The sort of place where you step out of the door and breathe a sigh of relief because your ears are finally getting a break. There is an outside terrace as an alternative but it’s not always open and of course the weather needs to be decent enough to sit outside. For me, a definite Yes to take away cakes and baked items, but unfortunately a No to sit down meals simply because...
