A rare treat, a proper home-made pasty.
There's not many places left in the world where you can get a truly home made pasty and this one is worth driving to.
Actual flaky pastry, not that awful rubbery stuff you get on a Ginsters, which as far as I'm concerned is more like foam mattress filler. The filling is discernibly meat, potato, swede and onion, none of that minced grey meat slurry or cheese and onion nonsense. Thank you very much Whole Hearted, you are a glimmer of hope for those of us who relish real food.
If I were to be hyper critical the pasty would be perfect if it had a few more minutes in the oven, so the crust had a wee bit more bite. Seasoning wise a bit more salt would make a difference too, but those are really minor...

I tried the Stonehouse pasty for the first time today and I was not disappointed. The pastry is the best I have ever had on a pasty and it was full to the brim with gorgeous filling. There's a small place to eat inside and outside.
I believe they currently only take cash which you can get out just along the road at the local Co-op.
