Greggs — Restaurant in Sunderland

If I could leave 0 stars then I would. 1 star is extremely generous! I am genuinely so shocked at the awful service of this store. Stopped by on my lunch break to grab a quick snack, it was slightly busy which is to be expected due to the time, but the staff were honestly so clueless. If someone had told me it was all of the staff’s first shift, I’d have believe it. Most of the food wasn’t available and I was told it would be a “15-20 minute wait”. Not exactly ideal for my break but I’ll cut some slack as it was the lunch rush. The manager, who I believe’s name badge said Sharon… was just constantly shouting orders at the staff to hurry them up and being extremely unpleasant to staff whilst there were many customers on the shop-floor… rather than actually being an effective manager and actually providing help for her colleagues. I was certainly not a fan of how she spoke to staff members, who were clearly struggling. I’d like to think I’ll never set foot in the store again, but if I do ever have to, then I truly hope I never have the misfortune of seeing...

This is a great Gregg's here with dedicated helpful friendly smiling staff. The "sit in" shop is adjacent to a free carpark and right next to crucial city road infrastructure. The Broadway roundabout junction is very busy with none-stop traffic, it is relentless. This is my first visit for a while, I was surprised to see the two men in here running the shop. Harry and Nathan. They've been working here whilst at college. Harry was busy cleaning the surfaces down. The counter front and the chiller. Nathan was serving customers. That they are still here says something about both sides. Gregg's must be a decent employer and those two good workers. They have something to be proud of to put in their CVs, authentic pride ought to be written in for sure. The thing about Gregg's is it's a Gregg's largely staffed by local people who know their customer base and speak in the same vernacular. Pretty disappointed with the attitude of some staff, as the sign at the entrance clearly states "Only 3 people allowed in-store" and when a random guy just pushed past everyone waiting in the queue, I asked a member of staff that he'd walked past why she let him do that, she said "cos he works for just-eat" so according to Greggs staff covid-19 rules don't apply to just-eat drivers as they must be immune to the...
