Istanbul Grill — Restaurant in Tameside

Had my birthday dinner here last night with 4 of my friends.

The food was great, recommend the halloumi starter. I'm picky when it comes to chicken and ordered the chicken shish. It was skewered breast and it was cooked perfectly. Menu is large so took a while to decide. The whole party enjoyed their food.

Drank well priced cocktails, which probably could of been a bit stronger but that's personal preference.

Pornstar Martinis were a popular choice 👌

Now for the highlights.....

The staff were all really friendly and attentive. Didn't have to wait long for service, opened doors, lots of energy, entertaining, helped us book our taxi home.

The atmosphere was authentic, relaxed and fun. The belly dancer was a nice touch of entertainment while eating.

Love the birthday ceremony. Not saying anymore about that. You have to be there. If it's your birthday let them know in advance. It's a great venue to celebrate.

Finally which I wasn't expecting....

Cha cha slide, oops up side your head, macarena, come on Eileen, celebration, 80s, 90s. The list goes on.

Your not pressured to participate hence the relaxed atmosphere but if you stay after your meal, lights go down, disco starts. My feet were hurting by the end of the night.

All in all I had the best birthday and would 100% go...

Ok. Lot of hype about this place, sadly it's overrated. It's a very noisy place due to the acoustics. Nothing the owners can do about that but you can hear every conversation and every dropped piece of cutlery. Sound system for ambient music is non existent. Couple of speakers miles apart playing what sounded like drum n bass. The kitchen is too small for the number of customers and very quickly it falls behind. As a result there is a long wait between ordering and getting the food. It took well over an hour to order get and eat the starters. Main course was cold bland and boring. I specifically asked not to be served rice but the main course had rice on the plate. The pitta bread I ordered instead of rice was missed and had to be redone. The salad looked and tasted like it had been poured out of a bag. Staff were friendly enough but there was no real direction from the management. It's really just a large size Turkish kebab take away with seating. Ok for a bite to eat after a night out but not somewhere to go for a special occasion. If you want real Turkish food of the highest quality go to The Carriage House...

Been to istanbull grill in cheadle multiple times and is amazing so i thought i would try the new denton istanbul grill as its much closer to me. Reserved a table for 4 and they squashed us on a table with 4 others (no gap) saw other groups sharing a round table as their was no space. Floorspace is poor and cramped. The food is lovely however portion sizes are smaller than cheadle istanbull grill for same price. My main reason i will never return is the owner who is out of his depth and rude. As we was finish our mains he came to my table and told us to pay and told us to move too the bar as people were waiting to be seated, we was only in the resturant for only 40mins (startes and main). Our plates are still on the table and not offered dessert. When asked can we have deasert he said no. Took our money and kicked us out. Never seen such incompetiance and lack of Customer service in a resturant and knaw i know the manager is out of his depth with pound signs on his mind and not appreciating his customers to istanbull grill. I would recommened trying somewhere else as customer service is zero...
