Called in for a quick drink on Friday around 6.00 pm. The place was very busy and only two tables available. Both needed clearing/cleaning. We picked the smallest table as there were only two of us. I had to ask three times for the table to be cleaned getting fobbed off twice. Two young women were sat at the next table to us and were having a discussion with a member of staff over drinks they had ordered. Neither of them had ID on them but in my opinion looked over twenty years old. They said they drank in the pub every weekend without issues. Even though they had paid for food and drink they weren’t allowed to have the drink without ID and they wouldn’t be refunded as they paid on the app. Eventually someone came with a passport for one of the girls and she was served. (turns out she was 23) only one glass was given for her and not her friend. We were chatting with them and they were upset about what had happened. The next thing their table was surrounded by three members of staff taking their drinks away because the other girl didn’t have ID on her. I understand the issues regarding under age drinking but both girls had proof of purchases they had made (on their phones) several other times at the same pub. Lessons to be learned by young people to carry ID with them if they are drinking as the Wetherspoon app does say you need ID to purchase alcohol. My main issue was the state of the table and the attitude of some staff when I asked (politely I may add) for it to be cleaned. This wasn’t a one off, I’ve been in the same pub a few times in the last few weeks and noticed dirty tables left for a while before being cleared. In this climate maybe they should allocate a member of staff who checks for tables that need clearing especially...

Used to visit here often, but not been here since it was refurbished at the beginning of the year. 3-4 times they got our order wrong and as a couple were forced to eat separately. Each time we expressed our dissatisfaction and were met by staff hostility. Ok fair enough, we won’t come again. Spur of the moment visit as we were in Ashton, hadn’t eaten. Thought we’d chance it. Stood at the bar waiting to be served, waited whilst bar staff finished their conversation with what looks to be a regular about politics... 🤷🏼♀️ that went on a bit too long! Ordered food. Specified allergies, so no peas to be put on either plate. Specified steak to be well done, due to pregnancy. Food came. Steak well done 😊 Peas on the plate with the steak. I explained I couldn’t eat the food due to allergies of peas and high risk due to pregnancy. Server paused and made clear this was an inconvenience to him. He said let me sort this out for you. He left me with half of the food on separate plates. Wasn’t ideal, but was willing to let it go for an easy life. Husband starts his. Mine was brought back 5 mins later. Gets to the end of the meal to find a pea hidden under my food!! Obviously the peas were just scraped off the plate and brought back to me!! I’m absolutely shocked that such a big outfit as Wetherspoons would be so careless with allergies! Especially with the deaths linked in the press recently. Both members of staff were aware of my allergies and pregnancy and for them to decide the welfare of my unborn child?? I find absolutely shocking! I would complain to head office, but I have done this before and never even got a reply. Shocking! Beware if you...
Read moreI went in today with a friend and my support dog. I asked the first guy who came to the door, he asked his manager to see if I could have my dog with me. He told me this is a one off and told me to bring ID for my dog next time. He told me that it's all fine as long as my dog didn't make a mess or run around. Later on after we sat down. 2 other workers said that it was all fine after explaining that my dog is a support dog.
Later on, this ginger staff member, came up to the table being really patronising kneeling down at the table and started basically going, being incredibly rude, saying that I shouldn't be there and I'm not allowed to be there with my support dog. And he said because we've already ordered, so he can't do anything else about it.
Throughout the whole time my support dog lay under the table at my legs and didn't even make a single issue once, while the ginger staff member kept staring and giving dirty looks. Me and my friend was there for over an hour and half just talking and my dog didn't cause an issue.
Me and my friend wanted one last drink before leaving, so i went to the bar to order, the bartender proceeded half way through making my drink, before the ginger staff member appeared once more, stood beside him and stopped him from making the drink, and proceeded to pour my order down the sink, and told us that we need to leave because of my dog, essentially rejected...
