The Buxton Inn — Restaurant in Tameside

We came in on the chance the buxton has a place for us to eat. The restaurant was busy and they let us know the food may be slightly longer than usual. We went outside as we had brought our dogs and there was treats, and water on the side for us to give to the them. The staff were polite and friendly and very professional. The food did take a little longer but its mothers day and i wouldn't say we were waiting an excessive amount of time considering how busy it obviously would be, but even so the staff came to apologise and offered us a free round of drinks, which wasn't due or expected but we appreciated it all the same. they also came and gave my mother a plant for mothers day which helped make her day that much more special. Lovely food pub , the food is fabulous ,especially the Thai food ,which beautifully presented . It's down fall is the coffee machine and kitchen close at 9.and unless staff mention it, you don't know . We had starters and mains all fabulous ,table cleared( about 8.45) waited for the girl to come back ,she didn't, one of the table went to find her ,to order coffee and dessert only to be told both had closed at 9 ( it was 9.10 by then ) .all 6 of us couldn't believe it and were very annoyed and disappointed . We then chatted while finishing our drinks and were asked to move to the bar to finish our drinks so they could clear the area .. that was adding insult to injury , we'd had enough by then so left . One star is generous… A table of 10 of us for a special birthday. We preordered the meals so were expecting a smooth experience. It wasn’t. Starters were fine. 2 of the meals arrived almost immediately. One of them was wrong and was replaced. We were then told the other 8 meals would be another 10 mins so we all ate at different times which completely ruined the occasion. This wouldn’t have been so bad but then when I tried to speak to manager/ owner, Dave, at the end of the meal he proceeded to scream and shout at me down the phone ( as he wasn’t in the building.)
