First time dining at The Haddon Hall Hotel Booked a table in advance online straight forward and received an email of confirmation. Arrived at a the pub, look very nice from the outside . Going straight the bar i waited 10 minutes at the bar before the staff would even acknowledge me. Finally I spoke to a member of staff and mentioned that i had booked a table for 7.00pm. They mentioned that there was no booking and that i was mistaken to which I showed them the confirmation email, double checking their books someone has wrote it down wrong in the bookings. so had to wait longer for a table. no apology from the staff or smiles nothing. Once seated, i looked around and the wall paper was ripped off and there was some baby highchairs trying to hide it but it was too big. The menu had some good choices, but when ordering the food we found out the we couldn't have the items that we ordered. and that it was going to 1hr for our food, still we decided to stay, walking back to my table where my family were waiting there were glass smashed all over my chair , coat in my bag,table and on the floor, as staff member had smashed it accidentally, the glass cleaned up poorly, i had to remove the glass from off my own chair and coat and there was still glass near my feet and there were children playing. the food arrived was ok for the price, but nobody asked if we were ok. Read moreWe come a long way from st Helens , to visit here when we are near the area for shopping. We normally have a good experience. However yesterday visit has put us off returning again. Firstly we saw the young waitress with long blonde hair who is normally pleasant I'm a voul mood , we had a slight wait for food and when it did come it was threw at us , no mention of do you need any sauce ? Do you know where cutlery is ? Was everything ok . My husband's mixed grill was missing mushrooms and my scampi wasn't cooked as crispy as it normally is. We had pre-ordered dessert and after 30 mins of finishing our main meal we still hadn't been back to neither our plates removed. We noticed a lady at the bar who we didn't see come to any tables or see anyone cleaning empty plates of tables. My husband in the end asked could we have our desserts she just said I will tell someone . About 10 mins later our mint sundae was thrown at us and the waitress said enjoy!! I litteraly caught mine we had no spoons , no mint choc chip ice-cream was just a scoop of vanilla with some chocolate sauce , a few mint munchies and a bit of cream . The last time I had a sundae it was lovely this wasn't worth the money we had paid the meal came too £43.43 and we left with our dinner plates and our desert plates all still on the table , nobody checked on us nobody cared . Sadly we won't return this pub again . It doesn't take much to keep your customers happy we have spent a lot of money over the last 12 months eating here...

We were seated, and when we went back to the bar to order our food the bar staff was serving someone else and walked off into the back again without looking to see if anyone else was there to be served and went straight onto her mobile phone taking selfies we had to call her out to serve us The food wasn’t the best we had 2, sizzling meals neither came out sizzling the veg with the lemon chicken was under cooked a was so chewy they were inedible the chicken was dry, the steak meal again the onions and mushrooms were uncooked couldn’t eat them. The steak to be fair was good but the rest was not good at all We were not asked how our meals were no one approached us at all, so we left without anyone coming to us This was our 1st time at this place and unfortunately it was not a very good experience To improve we would have liked our to be sizzling as it should have been and the vegetables cooked All we ourselves are very passionate about staff on mobile phones personal we believe they should be left in their bags or locker and used only on breaks not during work hours it looks very unprofessional for the business and not nice every time they stop serving they put their hands in their pockets and check their phone or go off to go on it So many hours of work are lost whilst staff are busy on...
