I booked the Pizza Party for my son and his school friends as an end of year treat. The atmosphere was calming and quiet. The staff were lovely and friendly. The table was set up lovely with their own board with their name on, a drink, chefs hat and rolling bin to start as we walked in. The children got busy decorating their Chef Hats whilst they waited for all their friends to arrive! The chef then came out and gave each child a tub of dough and showed them how to roll it out with their own individual rolling pins. He gave them plenty of time to get them into the shape they wanted. They got to put their tomato base on, the chef was asking them questions first such as what comes next rather than rushing through it. Then came the cheese and each child got a pot of 5 different toppings to choose from! Again they had plenty of time to do this making their pizzas into faces and allsorts of designs. They then were told they were going into the oven and whilst they cooked the children got to do their activity sheets! They were soon ready and the children were so happy with what they made and they were delicious! Next they got to use the ice cream machine, add sauce and a topping. All the children left with a pizza party bag with an activity pack, wristband and crayons to take home! Lovely afternoon! Thankyou x

Wow, the food was horrendous. This is, unfortunately going to be a grade A Karen write up but if this was my business I'd want the feedback. There wasn't any meat to choose from, just a manky dried up old caucus of what I think used to be a Turkey and some literal crumbs of weeks old Beef joint. The veg was inedible and drier than Glandi's flip flop and the potatoes were cremated and fossilised some time ago. You could have chewed the skin on the gravy and you couldn't even be saved by the extreme dryness of the food by diving into the provided condiments as you can see from the attached photograph, they speak for themselves. The blonde girl at the bar was nice and pleasant that took our order but that's the only positive about the place. It was manky, filthy and the rest of the staff were inattentive and gormless. Standing staring into space as we were waiting to be served ( no body else was waiting by the way, now we know why) so no reason for the lacklustre service. We came around 6pm, which I thought would have been prime time for a carvery, not just the left over scraps from yesterday's lunchtime. The proprietor should be really embarrassed.

Visited the Windmill with my wife on a Sunday afternoon for some carvery and a few drinks. Will ABSOLUTELY be coming again and making this a regular occurrence. To start the staff were absolutely fantastic, Shaunie the new gm as an absolute star and super friendly when serving us at the bar and was lovely to have a little chat. We was served by Laura who stayed with us throughout the meal and was quick to deal with any issues we had. The food was exceptional. We had some starters that were out fairly quickly and they was all hot and tasty. We followed it up with a carvery that definitely hit the spot for the both of us. The meat was juicy and tender and all the veg was delicious. A couple of the veg felt like it wasn't very fresh but upon request the chefs changed it over without a second thought and this was quick and efficient leaving us to enjoy freshly cooked veg. The gravy was also hot and nice and thick. We only had a couple of desserts but the sundaes were super lovely and looked incredible with beautiful presentation and all our food was served with a smile. To sum up it was a great experience and would definitely come again. 10/10

Visited on the 23rd July for the Sunday carvery. The best thing about our visit was being greeted by Olivia who is very professional, very friendly & great with all the customers. The worst things were as follows:

The beef was the worst joint of beef I had ever seen & ever tasted. The mashed potato was stuck to the serving spoon & there was other food in the mash obviously from other dishes. Customers are partly to blame but staff should check. The stuffing was cold & all stuck together. The turkey had pink bits in the flesh. The only decent food was the roast potatoes. The gravy was vile, but you could not have eaten that meal without it as it was so dry.

People reading this review may wonder why I didn't take the food back, so I'll tell you why.

The guy carving the meat was clearly having a really bad day & I didn't want to add to his obvious discomfort.

The staff were run off their feet around the food area. It's not fair when they were clearly working so hard to just add more drama for them which was caused because the guy serving carverys to customers was also serving up take away dinners for the delivery man who was loitering near the counter waiting for his delivery.

Management should step up & get involved. It's a shambles.

I used to go to the Windmill when Donna and Paul ran it & it was a family run pub. It seems that now it is part of a bigger entity that nobody higher up cares.

It would have to massively improve before I came in again.

I took my niece & nephew, cost me ÂŁ35 with drinks & we were all unimpressed.

The junior staff deserve better.

It's not their fault that the place is run shambolicly.

Why have every table booked all day each hour on a Sunday when clearly you can't cope. We queued for an exceptional amount of time for our food that you don't expect at a...

I have never been more disappointed in a dining experience than I was at this carvery restaurant. From the moment we walked in, my girlfriend and I were greeted with lackluster service and a poorly maintained atmosphere. The wait staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, which set the tone for the rest of our meal.

But it was the food that truly left us unsatisfied. The carvery options were limited and looked as though they had been sitting out for hours. The meat was dry and tasteless, the vegetables were limp and overcooked, and the gravy was a gelatinous mess. My girlfriend, who has a fairly simple palate, couldn't even stomach more than a few bites.

I have never tasted such unappetizing food in my life. It was as if the kitchen had no concept of seasoning or flavor, and simply threw together whatever was on hand. The overall experience was so disheartening that we couldn't even finish our plates.

In addition to the subpar food, the hygiene of the restaurant was also a major concern. The tables were sticky and had clearly not been properly cleaned, and the washrooms were dirty and smelly. It was clear that no attention to detail was paid in maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for guests.

Overall, I would highly recommend avoiding this carvery restaurant at all costs. The food is inedible, the service is lackluster, and the overall experience is one that will leave a bad taste in your mouth. It is clear that this establishment is in dire need of a complete overhaul or should simply close its doors for good. Save your money and...

Went here Wednesday morning with my family went to the bar ordered breakfast the bar lady was friendly. Went to breakfast counter and waited for chef as we ordered mushrooms 5 mins later she came out to give us our mushrooms got a plate and had to search the whole pile for clean ones as they all had last nights carvery still on them the chef seen us doing this and just watched after we got our plates and she gave us the muchrooms she didn’t take the plates into the wash she left them there for the next customers.. everything looked like it was sat there since opening no hash browns and no bread asked the chef if we could have some bread to make toast as there was only 2 crusts for her to look at us like this bread came out of her wage! Anyway she said she will go get some so I waited with my breakfast. Anyway 10 minutes later she still wasn’t out so I sat down as my breakfast was getting cold. My partner went up then to wait for the bread and still there was no sign of her he asked the bar staff member and then the chef came back out and said we have no white bread only brown at this point I just wanted some bread to toast anyway she went back in the kitchen then came back out and said she found white bread but she will have to defrost it!! 20 minutes we were waiting to toast some bread! We got in there at 10am it doesn’t finish till 11am do why not have it prepared!! The tables what had been used were full of dirty plates no sign of getting them cleared. We definitely won’t be back here...
