Hi folks, Food expert out and about in Bovey Tracy today. Just come across this hidden gem up in the park hills of Bovey Tracy. With the sun beaming down today and another glorious hot day, nothing better than a pit stop at this lovely cafe. About 20/30 mins walk through the park from the main high street. With a relaxing decor and smiles around, I was soon made to feel at home. I ordered a fresh crusty baguette with ham and cheese. Presented and made by two lovely young chefs, it was presented very well. Has to be the best baguette I have eaten for a long time. Garnished with home made coleslaw and salad, and not forgetting the crisps on the side also. Highly recommended this lovely hidden gem cafe in a beautiful setting and very friendly staff to look after you. Thank you for a lovely rest bite. From the Food Expert...

Difficult to find anything savoury on the menu that didn't have any spicy ingredients or sauce. Asked if I could have a pulled pork baguette without anything spicy but was told that the pork was in hoisin sauce. Ended up choosing 2 cheese scones but when they arrived I found that they contained more herb than cheese - why couldn't the menu say cheese and herb? Looking at the menu later I noticed something (presumably) without anything spicy added - children's half baguette with cheese or pulled ham. Wish I'd spotted that earlier. Won't be visiting again, the £3 (minimum) parking charge was a bad start - cheaper to go into Bovey, pay for an hour's parking and visit one of the town's cafés for some plain...

Went to this lovely looking cafe about a year ago and ordered the "cheese cream tea" for 2, assuming the price on the blackboard was correct was given less change than expected and was told that the different price on the menu was the correct price and not refunded by the somewhat surly girl who served us. Returned a year later and the same thing happened. The girl who served us this time (Sunday 31st July) was downright rude. This was only a few pence but surely I can't be the only one to have complained and instead of having disgruntled customers why not just get on it and get the prices right. Also 5 minutes tuition in being pleasant to customers...

I absolutely love Home Farm Café!! The food never disappoints! There is outdoor seating, indoor seating, and indoor seating where dogs are allowed too 👍 staff are really friendly and welcoming. There are daily specials as well as the main menu, I would highly recommend the beef pasty 👌 the soups are delicious too and they do lovely scones. Basically eat everything because it's all lush! Updated to add this continues to be a favourite for us, the food is always absolutely delicious and it's always a cosy welcome place to go after (or before!) a walk! Recently tried a breakfast flatbread special which was fantastic. Can't recommend enough!

Lovely cafè with seating inside & outside, which they allow dogs inside and out. They do take away hot drinks which you can take on a walk around the national trust parke. They do lovely meals and cakes including cream teas. Lovely relaxed & cozy atmosphere. It is child friendly with highchairs but only has a very few amount of food choices on the kids menu, they could do with a couple more items for young children.

Stopped here en route home, and had a Devon cream tea as my 40th birthday cake. Best decision I ever made. We will be stopping here every time we travel this way again - the plain scones with cream and jam are a firm favourite. Other half had a baguette, and I was almost sorry I didn't have one too. It smelled amazing, and tasted great. I would not have had room for both though.
