Pinto Thai — Restaurant in Teignbridge

One star due to service not the food. Went here for our anniversary. The food was delicious however the rest of the experience was unpleasant. The lady (Thai decent,possibly the manager) that served us had an absolutely revolting and rude behaviour towards me from the minute we walked in. We ordered starters and main and also made the lady aware of my seashell allergies, to which her reaction was that I am fussy and seemed annoyed. The lady kept shouting at me and creating a scene which some of the other customers notice too, however no one said anything. My partner suggested leaving however I tried to keep my calm and order anyway as we were trying to have a good date. The lady kept interrupting throughout the meal with her unpleasant behaviour and in a way trying to rush us out of the restaurant. She was however nice to my partner. There was also another server that was serving us at the same time an Asian decent gentleman. He was however a nice server to both me and my partner. Both me and my partner tried to rush our food to get out of the situation as quick as we can, I still tipped them £10 before going and asked the lady politely if she can pack the leftovers as I couldn't finish it all and thanked her for the food anyway. When I arrived home and tried having my leftovers the following day, I went into anaphylactic shock due to having reaction to the food and I am also asthmatic. My partners mum suggested going back to the restaurant and explaining what went on but I left it as I did assume the lady was the manager and probably nothing will come out of this. However I would like to let other people know who might be considering eating here and hope that the same does not happen you. Food was excellent. Got a large takeaway for a get together with a bunch of friends. Ordered it a couple of hours in advance and they were very helpful, we asked that the containers be marked so we knew what they were and for one to be egg free due to allergy and all no problem. Each container had a little sticker with the menu number on and a message like "no egg" "pork" where there were duplicates with variations.

Unfortunately there was a communication error between the kitchen and the front of house when I turned up and I was given 2 bags instead of 3 but did not notice the error until I got home (20 minutes away - not their fault). Tried to call but engaged, so drove back, at first they were polite but assertive that they had definitely given me the whole order but after a short while and communication with the kitchen it was realised that there should have been 3 bags. At this point they apologised and gave me some free wine and beer and all was resolved.

Would have given 5 stars, but for the error, as the food was great, especially the laab mou. The mistake would not stop me returning as they were polite and friendly throughout and apologised when they realised that they were in the wrong, plus it is an easy...

EXCELLENT! We did not have a reservation on a Sat evening but they were happy to accommodate us is we were happy with either the last two tables. They wanted us to be sure that we were happy with the tables offered which was very thoughtful. The FOOD was PERFECT. Squid starter excellent. Veggie spring rolls were perfectly acceptable but the second course - soups were absolutely out of this world. They were fragrant, aromatic with many different flavours and cram packed with the freshest vegetables only lightly cooked. 10 / 10. The duck main was the best had in a very long time and the satay vegetable stir fry was such good quality. Even better than this for VEGETARIANS - EVERY MEAL COMES WITH A VEGETARIAN OPTION!! Really...
