Indulgence — Restaurant in Teignbridge

We planned to get tea and cake at a cafe called “The Pharmacy.” It was about an hour drive away but worth it for the delicious scones and cakes. But when we got there we discovered that they had permanently closed! (That teaches me to check their social media rather than just google!)

I had my heart set on a really good scone and looked up other cafes nearby where we found “Indulgence”. It was a beautiful tearoom - just the vibe we were looking for.

The staff were super welcoming, chatty and friendly. They didn’t have any plain scones left but Ross said he could make some fresh to order for us.

We ordered a mix of teas, coffees and milkshakes + cakes and scones. It was all delicious. Ross again, went above and beyond with tailoring/altering my drink to my taste - I was wanting an iced coffee but with only a bit of milk.

Jane was very polite and kind and came over to ask what jam we wanted with our scones.

Couldn’t speak more highly of the staff and the cafe.

Very much enjoyed the beautifully tasty scones and left a very happy customer.

Absolutely loved this place, I was on a training course and my friend and I decided to have lunch here, very welcoming and friendly staff, beautiful interesting little cafe of curiosities, lovely old fashioned china tea sets, the food was great but their cakes! OMG absolutely amazing, bought two slices and took them away, i love cake and theirs is the pretty much the best I have ever had! Going to Newton abbot in a couple of weeks, specifically to go here again for lunch and cake. If your in Newton abbot and love tea and cake…….you would be a fool to walk past.gluten free...

I’m a bit loathe to sing the praises of this perfect cafe because too many people will want to go to experience it and there won’t be room for me. So far, my favourite is the homemade coffee and walnut cake which is the best I’ve tasted in many years. I’ve got a few more visits to make to get a comprehensive experience of most of the offerings which I look forward to! A friend’s favourite is the lemon drizzle cake. The coffee is excellent too.
