Ordered Calamari, White Bait, Kleftico and Moussaka, the Calamari was OK but have had much better, White Bait was strange, it was as though it had been cooked in 2 batches half of them were lovely but the other half were overcooked they were dark brown and quite crisp with a slight burnt flavour, the Kleftico as can be seen in the pictures was overcooked it had gone dry and at one end was too hard to eat, but it was a large piece of lamb so there was enough better meat to eat but that was still drier than it should have been, very little gravy with it, and finally the nail in the coffin, the Moussaka, described topped with a creamy bechamel sauce, more like a dried rubber sheet on top of a dry meat, see photos, I've seen better Moussaka in a Tesco value meal, all in all I must say it's the worst Greek meal I have had and I have been to 20+ Greek restaurants. The service was not the best, but I have had worse, several young girls who were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than serving the customers, the first brought over the cutlery wrapped in a paper napkins just walked past and dropped them in a pile at the side of the table and carried on walking past, very little manners, it just seems as though they didn't want to be there. But as I said I've had worse. Would I go again, No.

My wife and I were visiting a friend in the area and on the Sunday were thinking of visiting Wetherspoons in Clacton on Sea. On the way, we walked past My Big Fat Greek, and I stopped and looked at the menu as they walked on. My wife wasn't really hungry, but as soon as I saw Sheftalia on the menu, I called them back, showed my wife, and she said that she'd love to go in as it's her favourite. When we entered, we had a warm greeting, were shown to a table, and sat down. We ordered drinks, Keo beer for me and my wife, and an orange juice mixed with diet Pepsi for our friend, which I call mud. Our order was taken, and the drinks arrived, followed by the owner who then chatted about the strange mud drink, asked about our order and when told about the Sheftali, told us it is his wife's families old recipe. Our meals arrived, Sheftalia for my wife, Kleftico for our friend and the mixed grill platter for me, which we then all polished off. Having spent 3 years in Cyprus, the Sheftalia brought back many old memories, and the rest of the food was fantastic, especially when washed down with Keo beer. We had a great meal at a good price in a very pleasant atmosphere. Many thanks to the owner, staff, and especially the chefs for a fantastic meal. I very highly recommend this restaurant.

UNDERCOOKED RAW MEAT - WE DO NOT ADVISE EATING HERE!! See photos. I have reported this venue to the food standards agency. Not a good lunch experience, the sausage wasn't cooked on the plate and was raw inside after my wife had eaten it. We almost gave it to our 1 year old child, thank god we didnt. Waitress offered us 10 or 20% off the meal intially. When the bill came we were given a very generous £2.00 off. I felt sorry for our lovely waitress. The gutless manager gave her all the difficult messages to deliver and it was clear she felt awkward. The food overall wasnt good value, an absolute joke for £20 a dish (see photos). Considering the children's dish cost £5 and amounts to half of what a £16 dish cost, this place comes across as an absolute rip off. In any case, serving raw meat is a sign of poor standards and the attitude to resolve this was frankly poor.

Lovely looking place very deceiving when you walk past from outside it looked closed but when you go inside they ola e is pretty cool. They food was much to be desired.
