The Foresters Arms, well what can I say? What a great pub. Proper traditional pub, beer tastes great and clean and always very welcoming staff and owners. My first time in using this establishment 11 years ago, was a very trippy experience, I was greeted by this funny looking Hobbit called Dai, from the valleys. I was told under no uncertain terms that if caught dad dancing I'd be forced to run around the pub 8 times with my pants down. 17 times this has happened and not learned my lesson. Be careful too there's a signed grumpy corner, enter at your own risk, there's a few grumpy trolls that live under there. The boss troll likes to wear an Arsenal shirt and wears glasses, just beware! Also there's this strange Witch her name is ' Nicola of Cider-ville' a barmaid in her spare time from Witching, when she's working she stops time, you go in at 8pm think you have had a couple of drinks, and when you walk out its 5am the next day ...... Spooky! (She's a dam hot Witch though) Then there's Anne (The Boss) lovely landlady, but if you're looking for her to cook, expect pot noodle on toast, .. Luckily the Hobbit Dai learned to cook whilst hunting sheep in the valleys, he cooks a great roast dinner.
Anne and Dai great pub, great company, may it continue for many...
Read moreI recently had to visit Andover and decided to visit this pub for a Sunday roast (based on reading earlier reviews on Google) I am so glad that I went there and had a Sunday roast. It was one of the best Sunday roast meals I have had in a long time. I do like roast meal and often visit the famous 4 letter Carvery chain (starting with T) but I can safely say that the Sunday Roast at Forester was a million times better. Well done to the owners who give great food at even wonderful price. I would say you are selling this meal too cheap! If you ever go that way, do try...
Read moreAlways friendly and always good beers on tap! Recommended if you want to watch the footy or listen to some live music, it isn't a club or a Wetherspoons style pub. There is a good old fashioned vibe about the pub but don't think its for old men! A good mix of people and a good selection of pub games make it a very enjoyable place to sit on a Saturday and sink a few pints. Haven't tried the food so cant tell you if that's any good but prices looked reasonable. Give it a try if you want a country pub feel or if you want some banter over...
