Abbey Garden Cafe — Restaurant in Tewkesbury

We tried to visit this tea room yesterday. It opens at 10am. We got there at 10.15 and there was a closed sign on the door. It does also say times can vary at short notice, which is fair enough. What annoyed us was that there were 2 female staff members inside talking and preparing food. One made eye contact with me but chose to totally ignore us and carried on talking. I think that basic manners should come in here, as we stayed for 10 minutes outside in the foyer to see if they would at least have the courtesy to come and acknowledge us or to explain or apologise as to why they weren’t open. The cafe itself is OK but we arrived at 10 am there yesterday,there were 3 people outside waiting to go inside and 2 staff inside who didn't seem to be doing much, they finally let us in at 10.15 am. Visited here whilst in Tewksbury and was looking forward to a lovely lunch after viewing the abbey, sadly very disappointing! We ordered 2 jacket potatoes, a toastie and soup of the day.
