Small pub having long history, opened in 1774. Good place if you would like to combine having a pint or few while wtching sports on screens. There is also a mini beer garden.

Dangerous pub. My brothers and I in our 40s, went to go for a drink. As it was close to closing time we were assailed by two young door men, who by default were preventing people from entering the pub. Their default position was to push customers, escalate, and use agressive language, and throw punches. It ended up in a fight between 3 elderly men, 2 young lads, and about 3 random bar staff. A genuinely horrible, and dangerous place. The door staff are immature, poorly trained, and unskilled in martial arts. I managed to bust a knee tying keep one of the door staff from kicking a 40 years old, father of two in the head. Do not attend if you want any semblance of a sensible and mature night. And to the door staff, you are ruining an otherwise wonderful town, for the sake of your ego and...

A great pub, and a very friendly welcome for my youngest son, our dog Dottie and me! The 3 of us had to have an overnight stay in the Travelodge Tewkesbury, and with us being Welsh, and the England v Wales 6 nations game on it's the law that we had to find a pub to watch the game, but because we had the dog i didn't know if any pub would take us, but the Anchor was the first pub we came across and we were warmly welcomed, with treats for the dog and loads of fusses for her. It was a great atmosphere for the game, and being Welsh there was banter of an adult kind, but it made for a great day, and we chatted to loads of people in the bar. Thanks...

Great place for a cheap pint. They recently started a pizza for a fiver. Thought it was a great price for a good snack especially when your drunk. Sadly I saw them pull them out of the freezer. So it's a chef's larder pizza. It's a shame they have not looked at actually making there own. I know it costs more labour. But. There pizza was nice. What would a proper home made pizza be like ? That's the only reason for the drop of a star.

Other than that. Lots of sports to watch. Happy bartenders and happy to help you with taxi numbers at the end of the night !

If you would like me to take photos I...
