The star is based on the food today. The staff and pub were lovely, and our particular waiter was really good. Dog friendly which makes it better. I then must say the Taste of the food was again really good. However, the portion. The website states all the trimmings, roast potatoes and seasonal veg. On the plate was 4 slithers of carrot, 2 slithers of parsnip and one broccoli head cut in half. 3 roast potatoes smaller than golf balls, and a small aunt Bessie Yorkshire. When the meal come out, there was a look of disappointment on all our faces. If I was to compare this to an age group portion, I would say between 4-6. For 6 full grown adults, without exaggeration we could have ordered 4 roasts each and still had room for pudding.
From reviews previously the restaurant was chosen as were not from Tewksbury. Would we go back, for taste and customer service definitely, would we pay £12 for it...

Simply because of this we ate elsewhere , which was a shame really but , as I said , I don't think animals should be allowed in restaurants. Many people are allergic to animals but it seems that ( in general ) it is ignored yet , God forbid , if there is a peanut in sight. Sorry Nottingham , would loved to have joined you but....If you don't mind the dogs then I would 100% recommend a visit to this cosy old...
Read moreFood was average and we waited 45 minutes for it to be served. We were the first in the pub and placed our order straight away, so not like it was busy with lots before us. I opted for the chicken selection - southern fried strips, wings and bbq chicken melt. The strips were over cooked and just about edible, the wings were nice, the chicken melt was ....... well what can I say - a torn off piece of fillet with a blob of bbq sauce and a postage stamp size square of cheap cheese slice - not even melted. The fries were OK. My husband had the steak pie, mash and peas which was ok but nothing special. For such a nice olde world pub the food was a total disappointment. I Do Not...
