The Tandoori Nite — Restaurant in Thanet

So when we pointed out that the dishes were as sweet as jam, honey or cake icing, tasting of nothing but sugar, the waiter first lied that Chicken Tikka Masala, Sag Paneer, Lamb Pasanda, Coconut Rice and even Garlic Naan were all supposed to be sweet. Then suddenly he blamed us for not knowing that Indian food in England is nothing like the authentic cuisine. Add this to the fact that the staff don't wear masks but lean over you when speaking; they charge extra for condiments without telling you and are rudely pushy about drinks, then it all adds up to the worse restaurant experience we've had in a long while. The place is nothing but a scam. Only go here if you've never tasted real Indian food and don't mind...

How disappointing 🙁. I am relatively new to the area so thought I'd give tandoori Nite a try tonight. I ordered a takeaway for myself and my 11 year old son which included chicken tikka bhuna for me, which should be medium but I asked for spicy, and my son ordered a butter chicken. My chicken tikka bhuna was tasty but wasn't spicy at all. This turned out to be a good thing because I had to share it with my son as his butter chicken was unbearably sweet and unpalatable (even for an 11 year old sugar fiend!) We also ordered a starter of vegetable samosas which consisted of 2 teeny weeny samosas!

I will give Tandoori Nite another try before I write it off but at this stage I'm not holding...

I can't really fault them, they're definitely trying.

However it was literally impossible to distinguish between butter chicken and a korma other than the colour. Nothing but coconut - which is a real shame.

The chicken biryani was ok, I've definitely had better. It was lacking flavour if im being perfectly honest. Hyderabad biryani knocks this out of the water.

I'll give this place another chance but won't be ordering any of the above.

The best part of the meal was the samosas and the naan bread.

Update: I understand why this place had a terrible food hygiene rating. Let's just say I've spent most of today incapacitated. The food was tasty but it has ruined me and I won't...
