Superb, independent pub and a restaurant with a terrific menu. All food is cooked freshly to order, so there may be more of a wait for it to be served, but it's worth the wait because It is tasty and very enjoyable. There is even a roaring log fire when it's chilly. The toilets were recently renovated I was informed when I complimented them, so they are generally good. Yesterday (Saturday), however, there was a slight glitch: the restaurant and bar were extra busy and this had emptied both toilet tissue dispensers in the ladies loo and all the paper, from one of the spare rolls provided instead, in one of the two ladies' cubicles had run out too. The deficiency was promptly remedied once the staff was advised of it. I've now eaten here at two different times of the day and therefore from its two menus, one for evenings whereas the other is available from 11am, I believe. My meals on both occasions were excellent, as were my partner's, and I loved the dessert! On the second occasion, with other members of my family, the whole party was greatly impressed and definitely wants to return on a future date.

A lovely friendly pub. Very popular with the locals of Croxley Green but you’re made to feel very welcome on arrival. Seating outside front garden & also out the back garden which is nice, but over looks the car park. The car park can get full at peak times but not normally a problem to find somewhere local to park. Dogs are allowed both inside & outside and on the few occasions we have visited there has always been many dogs here. The vibe seems really chill & relaxed. Food is good, I always go for the superfood salad as it’s simply the most amazing thing which sounds strange for a salad but it’s amazing!

A superb, what I call traditional country pub. I've been here a few times and would highly recommend either the Mighty Meat Platter or the Classic Signature 13 Handmade burger. It has a wonderful little beer garden and is such pleasant place to relax and enjoy some tranquillity in the sun (when its out). Equally they have a log burning fire which is nice to enjoy on a cold winters evening. Definitely pay them a visit as it wont disappoint.

After many a good meal at this pub, I have to now report that our last visit was not a good one. We went for a nice roast dinner ( or so I thought it would be ) placed our order, when our food arrived, I had ordered the roast chicken. It arrived I proceeded to cut into the chicken to find that it wasn't not cooked properly. I called the waiter over and explained that it wasn't quite cooked. He took my plate away. Leaving my husband's and sons dinner. The manageress returned quickly to our table and said " the thing is with our chicken we check it with a thermometer. So it is good". I explained that the thermometer does not tell you when it is cooked. It only tells you it's hot. Although many people refer to this as a good method for telling when something is cooked. However after cutting into it you could clearly tell that it wasn't cooked. After I said this I was asked with attitude " want something else then". After this response I said no and we will be leaving. We gathered our belongings and proceeded to exit. Where as we left, disgusting looks were given to us by the staff gathered around the bar. I stated to them that we would not be returning. In this current climate you would think that customer service would be of a great importance, and food should be cooked for customers. Especially as the catering industry is apparently struggling. My husband is a fully qualified chef and he would never of sent this uncooked food out, and certainly would not of given attitude, when it wasn't upto their normal standard, or for that matter an edible standard. Disappointing and disgraceful. We will...

Mother’s Day meal ruined by poor service. My mother booked a week in advance for a table for 2.30 on Mother’s Day as my brother and I visited from different parts of the country to spend the day with mum. On arrival before our allotted time we were met by staff. They then ignored us and sat three tables whilst we waited. After fifteen minutes of no action I asked the manager what was happening. She then told us she had no record of a booking. She said she would see if a table would become free. 10 minutes later no news. So we took a seat in the bar with drinks. They did not come looking for us so I went back after another 15 minutes to find out what was happening…the answer was nothing. I said we could eat where we were sitting. They agreed, took orders and then nothing for over half an hour. Having been there for 1.5hours with no sign of food coming, we tried one more time to find out what was happening and they could not tell us if the meals were coming. The communication skills were shockingly poor. I will never know if the food is good because after this experience the upset caused to my78 year old mother means I will not...
