Wow, where to start?
I finally had a rare night off from running North Devon Hog Roast with my husband Andy to celebrate my 50th birthdayâand what better way than visiting a place weâd been longing to try after hearing such glowing reviews? From the moment we stepped through the door, we were made to feel so special. Lydia greeted us warmly and guided us through her incredible recommendations for both wine and food, making it a truly exceptional experience from start to finish.
For starters, I had the Bourguignon, and wowâthe flavours were absolutely out of this world! Andy opted for the mussels, which he said were pure heaven. For mains, I enjoyed the Monkfish in the most incredible sauce, bursting with flavour, while Andy savoured the ribeye steak, which was perfectly cooked and melted in the mouth. Sadly, we were too full to try dessert, but we watched others being served and were thoroughly tempted!
Florian is an outstanding chef, and we simply couldnât leave without shouting about this amazing place. We only wish weâd visited sooner, but weâll absolutely be back. Thank you so much for making my birthday evening so special and perfectâit was truly unforgettable.
See you soon! Sam & Andy xxx North Devon Hog Roast Lower...
Read moreWent here February 14th with my partner. He has been non stop going on about not being able to find somewhere to get fresh oysters. While we were on holiday in Devon, I google the best place to find fresh seafood for him. Well, what a fantastic place I found!! The welcome we received was absolutely amazing, couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Her husband, the chief came out to meet us aswell, they were both attentive and constantly made sure we were ok, and we were happy. I don't personally like fish, so chose the chicken skewers for starters, and steak for my main course, which I have to say, that steak and sauce was the best I've ever had! Cooked to perfection, just melted in my mouth..my partner couldn't decide what starter to have, so orders all of them as a main course. But stayed away from the snails đ ( x 2 on the oysters though, he loved them) . I would like to wish them the best of luck , such a lovely couple. Can't wait to go back, we would be there eating all the time if we...
Read moreThere's only one word needed to describe Le Petit Monde... Superb! There were 10 of us that went for an evening meal. I called the day we were going to get the fresh catch of the day, and she emailed the menu so we could peruse it before, and everyone couldn't praise it high enough. Between us, but not everyone had starters, there were scallops, homemade mackerel rillettes, chicken skewers, and garlic bread. Main courses we had rib eye steaks, monkfish katsu curry, moules frites, my wife had the gambas, and I had the Bouilibaise. Her gambas were absolutely lovely, and my Bouilibaise was one of the best I've ever had. In it, there were mussels, gambas, scallops, monkfish, plus another fish. Lydia, the front of house was really attentive, and Florian, her husband, is the chef. Nothing was too much for either of them. It is advisable to book ahead, especially if there is a large party. I can only say keep up the good work, the both of you. We shall be back, that's for sure! Thank...
