McDonald's — Restaurant in Trafford

Sometimes I wonder what Grimace himself would make of McDonald's Stretford. Take a trip down Chester Road and upon passing Stretford Mall, you'll feel the gravitational pull of the ever-familiar golden arches, their glow as bright as a star set for supernova. A brilliant lie, sold to us by the soulless. Grimace was colourful, too—perhaps even gaudy. He was big and round and kind of silly, but somewhere in his googly eyes was a deep tenderness, an unwavering awareness of the responsibility he held to mankind as a bulbous purple vassal of its largest fast food retailer.

McDonald's Stretford is an affront to Grimace's memory. It is receiving the wrong burger. It is tucking in to the bitter disappoint of stone cold fries. It is painfully slow service when you're in a rush. It is a knife through Grimace's swollen, plum-shaded heart. Now, as McDonald's tries desperately to salvage its already rotten reputation, it refuses to let our smooth-headed lavender angel rest, instead offering us his blood in the form of a crude, berry-flavoured milkshake. Welcome to a world where churches might provide apple and blackcurrant squash at holy communion—a world symbolic of everything wrong with modern McDonald's. The Stretford branch wears its wounds proudly, choosing to let them fester and decay, polluting every aspect of its service from quality of food to waiting times. I recently placed an order for delivery and found one of my burgers (the key component in a meal costing over £10) to be missing. Grimace wept.

I've been sitting on these thoughts for a while. Heavy is the cross. I believe we owe it to those no longer here—to the fallen heroes, to the Grimaces of the world—to stand up and demand a return to a McDonald's that cares. Even writing this, I fear for my safety. Who knows when Ronald and his mob of brightly-coloured thugs might come knocking.

So recently moved not the area. First time at this mc d’s, get home and half my order is missing. Had to call at least 5 times before a fetus answers the phone called sioban. She proceeds to interrogate me, put me on hold while she tries to trace my order (gave her the order number) clearly Incompetent, but does offer to replace my order. So this morning, I have a day off work so thought I’d go through the drive thru and surprise my family with breakfast...... So i order and I’m sat at the drive thru window with my hands on the steering wheel then a teenage boy passes me two hot drinks in each hand...(no drinks holder or even common sense enough to offer one)... I then have to wait for my food order..... (and I check it at the window because of my previous experience) surprise surprise..... some of my order is missing...... had to request napkins, cup holder, syrup (that should come with meal) .... I proceed to ask for the rest of my order for an extreamly belligerent employee to inform me that I’d have to go through the drive thru again as the intercom is crackly and they couldn’t hear my order properly...... I’d already waited 15 mins by this point and opted to take what I had as my food was near cold and I wasn’t getting any resolve. My advice to anyone is...... only order from here if you have patience of a saint and willing to just get what your given and greatful as it’s clear that every single employee has little-no training in...

Wrong orders and terrible wait times in general. This is my most convenient restaurant locationwise but sadly since the pandemic because of increase in Deliveroo and Just Eat on top of drive-thru orders wait times are terrible. They prepare massive delivery orders and in-store customers have to wait until they get prepped, at peak times waiting delivery drivers block the very limited space in store. It is 11am practically no one in and I am here waiting since 10-15 mins for two meals. It could be swap over from breakfast to lunch menu takes time but it is rather slow for fast food restaurant. We also have to double check takeaway orders because we’ve had few times missing items. It used to be a fast food restaurant. It is not at the moment. Online orders should be perhaps prepped separately esp at peak times. Hope this will get sorted and in-store customers won’t be sidelined for online orders. Finally it is often impossible to order a milk shake, I have no idea if this is a Brexit bonus or what the reason is but since a while there are intermittent supply problems.
