Disappointing experience. Location isnāt very central and when you get there youāre not very well welcome. There is also the stand at Kargo Mkt but again, itās just food court experience. Hard to find the tea leaves in the traditional tea leaf salad, the food lacks taste and authenticity and even though they do reply on their social media theyāre not very helpful. I was very hopeful Iād have a great culinary experience after reading the reviews here but in the end I wouldnāt recommend it to any Burmese food connoisseur
UPDATE: This message is directed to the owner who finally decided to reply to my review: So apparently I lie to damage your business. You must have ennemies everywhere. You say you've haven't had a location at Kargo Mkt for over 7 months? Too bad I wrote my review 9 months ago and you're just replying now. It shows you're not very involved in this. I'm not lying I've been to both your shops and only ate at kargo food court since your manager or whoever it was told us to get lost when we first stopped by Old Trafford. I would happily show you the receipt on my banking app or the picture I took of that wish version of a tea leaf salad that was still on your menu in November 2024 - I don't want to damage your business, I don't care about it I don't even live in Manchester but I can't let you calling me a liar. Maybe you wouldn't have such bad reviews if you were treating your prospects with more...
Read moreNila Burmese Restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped in, the warm ambiance and aromatic spices transported me straight to the heart of Myanmar. Every dish was a revelation the Tea Leaf Salad (Lahpet Thoke) was a tangy, crunchy masterpiece, and the tamarind pork curry had layers of flavor that left me craving more𩵠.
The owner went above and beyond to explain the menu and make recommendations, adding such a personal touch to the experience. The portions are generous, the prices fair, and the vegan/vegetarian options ( lentils and pea curry!) are a huge plus.š¤©š¤©which is one of my fav actually š and also I love the spicy hot sauce ! it is rare to get this hot with great level of spicy sauce in the UK but here you can enjoy traditional Burmese hot sauce!
Whether youāre a Burmese cuisine newbie or a seasoned fan, Nilaās Burmese kitchen is a must-visit. Iāll be back soon to try the rest of the menuāthis place deserves all...
Read moreThe current prices are excessively high. Despite their claim of no price increases, I vividly remember when it was £6.20, then £6.50, and even back then, the portion size felt inadequate. Notably, they use branded sriracha sauce instead of homemade, as mentioned earlier. The portions barely satisfy even a pigeon's appetite. While larger portions are available for dine-in customers for the same price, those of us with limited breaks, such as the 30-minute lunch window for workers, are restricted to the takeaway option. Moreover, a small samosa is priced at £1, which appears quite steep.
Their other cafe in the Cargo Market is similarly pricey, although it does offer a more extensive selection. Despite this, we opted to dine at another food outlet.
Unfortunately, in Trafford Park, people are inclined towards affordable, quick, and filling meals rather than small...
