This review is incredibly frustrating as I absolutely love the moose in the city Centre and I've been a frequent customer for many years. However this branch just does not seem to live up to the standard yet.
I've been twice in the past month, Thursday the 13th around 10:30am and then today, Saturday Feb 22 at 12:45pm.
On Thursday, the service was okay, however the friend that I was with had asked for a tea when she was finished with the meal and she didn't get it in time. We ended up having to take it as a takeaway.
Today, Saturday, was much worse. I'm too awkward of a person to ask for the service to be removed from a bill but today I heavily considered it. We got to the restaurant for our reservation at 12:45pm. Seating straight away and had our drinks taken. Then it took over ten minutes for our order to be taken, there were several tables around us who had their orders taken before us yet they had sat down after us. There were many servers walking past who clearly saw us with closed menus waiting to order and none stopped to take our order. We were then told it would take 40 minutes for our food to come out. Which, is fine because it was busy but the long wait just to be able to order made it even longer.
We then finally get half the food and had no cutlery on the table. I had to try several times and finally flagged down a server to get some.
We ordered a plate of the cinnamon apple pecan pancakes and the fam 5 Freddy breakfast burger. The pancakes came missing the pecans, when I pointed this out to the server, she said that the chefs have been told not to put the pecans on the pancakes as it's a nut hazard, that they only include the pecans when the customer asks for them. This should have been conveyed when I placed the order with the server and not when I already had the food in front of me. She did bring me the topping, but it just added to the annoyance already building. I also ordered this exact same dish on Thursday the 13th and didn't have an issue at all with the pecan topping. There was also a clear size difference between the pancakes I received on the 12th and the ones I received today. I felt a little cheated by how much smaller they were in comparison and I'd really hope there was some better consistency in the plates. I've attached the two photos, the first photo with the eggs Benedict in the background was the Thursday trip and the second photo was today's trip.
We had the pancakes for about 5-10 minutes and my partner still had not received his food. I had to again, flag a server over and ask how long his would be. She brought it over straight away.
When it was time to pay, I asked for the bill from a server, she brought it over and then just immediately walked away, no asking to pay cash or card etc. We then sat there again for another 5ish minutes while all the tables around us were cleared and bills paid but we were not approached. I ended up having to go up to the counter to pay for the bill.
I love the food and I love the atmosphere, but the service was incredibly lacking and I wouldn't recommend anyone go on a busy weekend.

Read morePre-booked visit for 3 of us at 10am on a Friday (in school half term).
Greeted at the door with a smile where they took our name and took us to our table and told us who our waitress would be (Ilenia). Not long after we sat down, we were greeted by Ilenia and asked if we'd been here before and then took our drinks order (2 x breakfast teas and an Americano with hot milk). These drinks were then brought over in about 5mins which gave us time to view the extensive menu with SO many tempting options! We ended up choosing the pancake stack with berries and mascarpone, waffles with apple and cinnamon and pancakes Benedict. The food was brought out in 5-10mins and the presentation was excellent, we all really enjoyed our food, we've eaten similar food elsewhere and this was top notch, on par with what you would get in north America! We were checked on by Ilenia several times to see if food was okay and if we wanted any more drinks or maple syrup (we said yes to both).
Really lovely interior and you could tell it was newly opened as it looked pristine!
We got there at 10am and it was quite quiet but by 11am it started to get busy. We were advised always to book by Ilenia as it gets very busy and ques out the door on the weekends
The bill for 3 meals, 4 hot drinks was £51, which I think for the quality of food and service was appropriate.
Highly recommend and will definitely be back!
Shout out to Ilenia who was attentive but not too much and to Emily the chef who made our...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Moose Coffee in MediaCityUK, and we can’t say enough good things about our experience, thanks in large part to Billie! From the moment we arrived, Billie was friendly and attentive. She took the time to ask about any allergies (we had none) and recommended some fantastic menu items based on what we had seen on Instagram.
We decided to try the Bronx Bunch, which was an absolute delight! The homemade potato hash was perfectly fried with garlic, onion, and Dijon mustard, and the combination of smoked sausage, streaky bacon, corned beef, peppers, and melted cheddar was simply divine. It was paired beautifully with two free-range Moose style fried eggs and granary toast.
For dessert, we couldn’t resist the new Moose Cinnamon Swirl & Apple Stack waffles. They were heavenly, topped with cinnamon swirl icing, maple pecans, and homemade spiced apples, all drizzled with Canadian maple syrup. Every bite was a treat!
To top off our meal, we enjoyed the Moose Macchiato, a delightful blend of milky coffee, caramel, double espresso, and steamed milk, finished with a swirl of whipped cream. It was the perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Billie’s service was exceptional, and we wanted to show our appreciation by giving her a tip. Her recommendations truly enhanced our experience, and we left with full bellies and happy hearts. If you’re in MediaCityUK, definitely stop by Moose Coffee and ask for Billie – you won’t be...
