Stayed here about one year ago. Had to wait a considerable amount of time before the receptionist arrived to check us in.
The deposit had to be paid with credit only, and reception actually turned down the full payment in cash. Despite checking out early, I still had to book a shorter stay due to the lack of room on my card. None of this, to my knowledge, was mentioned anywhere at the time I was making a reservation.
The sleeping/living was clean, but the kitchenette, though stocked with many utensils, wasn't cleaned as well as I would have liked. Bits of food were still on the forks and knives, which for a vegetarian, is very concerning. However, I mentioned it to the front desk, and they had it all replaced promptly.
The bathroom had a few issues; the laminate on the medicine cabinet was chipped at & partially peeled off, and the the shower was difficult to figure out. The knobs weren't very responsive to being turned, and it was either scalding hot or ice cold. To avoid this, just ask the staff how the shower works before you settle in.
The beds were very comfortable, and laying on it was a lot better than sitting on the couch. The TV was small and a bit dated, but thankfully, the Wi-Fi was excellent in my room.
The only outstanding reason I wouldn't want to come back is the deposit issue. Because I had no choice but to pay with a credit card, all the minor things seemed bigger, and became harder to ignore, with that main inconvenience looming over my entire stay. If that gets fixed, I'd easily bump my review up a star, because it's a very simple fix to make a guest feel welcome, and not met with unexpected problems the moment...
Read moreEsmeralda is the only positive thing I have to talk about with this building. The cleaner is lovely and friendly/helpful and makes the corridors smell nice and clean!. However, with the building itself, I can’t understand why there are so many 4/5 star reviews. I Lived here for a year and never again. The constant failures of the building impacting residents constantly is unacceptable. From no hot water for days with no pre warning, this happened multiple times throughout my time here, GREEN tap water coming out of all the taps, leaky sinks, fire alarms going off randomly all the time, at least one day a week which are painful to hear and quite scary as we’re unsure whether it’s. A real safety concern or not all the time, Constant pipe leaks and elevators being broken in a 25 story apartment building is just totally unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to live here unless you like living in an old, rundown hotel that clearly is past it’s sell by date :)
A.k.a it’s no longer a hotel, it’s an...
Read moreI have just had my 2nd visit to the Heart Appts, this time in a 2-bed Appt instead of a Studio Appt as I wanted to have friends staying overnight. Again, the only fault is a lack of information. This visit I was cooking for a dinner party but couldn't turn the oven on, even though the cooker switch was turned on. I managed to cook without it knowing a maintenance worker was coming to change light bulb and when he came I told him about the oven. "Have you turned it on" he asked? "Yes" I replied pointing to the cooker switch. "No not that one, this one" he said pointing to a switch on the opposite wall next to the patio door! Yes, over the switch was the word 'oven' and 'hood' over a other switch, but I thought they were light switches for the balcony me, never thinking for a moment that they related to the oven and hood!! So this information would have been helpful with easy to see notices in the kitchen, or perhaps contained in the information leaflet which is given when...
