On Saturday I booked a 2 hour bottomless brunch but unfortunately arrived late. I had tried to ring the restaurant multiple times to let them know but nobody answered the phone. I was very apologetic upon arrival and fully expecting to have our booking cut short or cancelled, however, was told that it was completely fine and they would only need the table back after 1 hour and 50 minutes which we were very appreciative of. After just an hour a waitress came over and told us we would have to leave shortly. We were a little confused as this was not what we were originally told and also frustrated as due to slow service we had only been served twice by then. We then tried to place one more drinks order before leaving however all of the staff seemed to have disappeared and we were unable to place an order for 25 minutes. When a waitress did come over she told us that our booking was over. I tried speaking to her about what had happened and she ignored me. I then went over to speak to the host who I had originally spoken to and he was very short with me. After explaining what had happened, he offered me and my friend one more drink but said we would have to leave after as they needed the table back. We were given the drinks and then tried to ask for the bill but again were waiting 30 minutes before anyone came over. If the table was needed back by a certain time why were we left sitting there for an extra 30 minutes after that time? The host then came over with the bill and took the payment without speaking a word to us, coming across as very rude. I have worked as a host myself and understand how stressful it is however, there needs to be a certain level of consistency and the way were treated was very poor. I would much rather have just had our brunch cancelled instead of paying the £31 to receive two drinks and then told to leave. On the bright side for the first hour we were served by two younger waiters who were absolutely lovely, the problems only arose...
Read moreFirst of all the young lad that served us was lovely We arrived on a Sunday lunch time the place was eerie quiet, we know why now! But coming from Preston we didn’t know the area. When I was first placing my order the lady infront of me was complaining but I just braved it and ignored it. We entered with a child but had to ask after 10 mins for a child menu. No crayons provided with the child’s colour in menu. We orderd drink there was no Pinot so we order a Shiraz, it was basically like vinegar! Awful. Asked for Zinfandel they didn’t have that either. I had to ask for a glass with my bottle of sprite. The mock tails are nothing like advertised on the menu advertised as 2 for 1 but not advertised that it has to be the same drink. When our meals arrived at the table we had to ask for cutlery and then waited for quite a long time for that to arrive ( maybe they had to wash some) ( we nibbled our chips whilst the cutlery came)Then when the cutlery did arrive we cut into our medium/ well done steaks to find them medium rare. We had to ask for them to be put back on the grill, which the server and chef agreed so we waited again nibbling on our fries so then our steaks came back with no top Up of fries so we had fries for starter and a steak on its own for main. We asked what was available for the kid’s dessert included in the price and basically someone had left the freezer open so they were going to get back to us with what the options were. We had to ask a second time if they knew what we could have and the only option was icecream, chocolate sauce and marshmallows. The lad that served us was nice enough none of this was really his fault and I felt awful complaining but it was a waste of time and money and not really a pleasant Sunday...
Read moreDog food quality the steak in 'Slug and Lettuce' in Sale served us the most inedible steak I have ever encountered. The meat was ropey and chewy. The fork and the knife could NOT go through! What a waste of money. We visited 'Slug and Lettuce' on Monday 10th of December 2018. We thought to try out our local food.
Because normally we go in 'Slug and Lettuce' for drinks. The Duty Manager who was in on 10th of December 2018, he seemed O.K when we had a polite chat during making our cocktails. I ordered the 10 Oz steak with prawns and calamari on the side.
When the steak arrived I could NOT believe my eyes. It was a ropey mess, full of veins.
The Manager saw my reaction and when he brought the steak, he asked me if I wanted to re- cook it. But the problem with the steak it was Not how it was cooked.
But the chef chosen to give me the part of the meat he will had given to his dog! It was a mash of veins, ropey which the fork and knife could not go through.
My partner saw me to struggle to attempted it to eat it, and he asked me if I want him to speak to the Manager to exchange the steak.
When my partner spoke to the Manager, he said to him with an assertive manner; that 'he will not exchange the steak. And he is not a butcher '.🤨
The Manager did NOT offer any flexibility to exchange the steak, or to refund the money we had paid for that awful quality steak.
Thus I left the ropey awful meat. And I threw parts of it in a tissue.
And my advice is to NOT eat in 'Slug and Lettuce' if you don't want to waste your money to Dog food type quality of meat. 'Slug and Lettuce' will make good if they hire a new chef.
I provide photographs of that veiny mess of steak that the Chef dared to served us, without to...
